Dan Cole might be the most braindead player that England have ever picked, and there's a few candidates for that position.

The alternative is a 20-year old rookie though

If Brookes can get an injury-free run going he could be the man

Think George Kruis has been very impressive so far. Think he's better off than the penalty magnet Lawes

I'd say marler will start for Ireland. Jamie George is a serious impact sub

Itoje was everywhere when he came on, hitting rucks like a demon

It's not far off clicking I'd say

What happened to the Sarries?!

Lost 64-23!

Leicester struggling a bit too without the big names..

Did they send out the London Welsh team by mistake?

Can't see them having any trouble with Ireland but the Welsh game will really show where they're at. Championship decider”

I'll be a bit controversial here but I thought Joseph was pretty average outside of his tries.. .that said, being in the right time and place for 3 scores is no mean feat. But then I remember Stuart Abbot scoring a hat trick against Scotland in 2004 or something. I'd still prefer to see Daly on the bench.

Ford looked okay once he scored his try.

Itoje looked class, I'm so happy he fulfilled the expectation, I know it's only the first game but it's a start, Clifford has been nice and steady, certainly not the impact of Maro but still good. The irony of Robshaw moving to 7 when Itoje came on was not lost on me after what EJ said in the RWC.

But as others said, it's still early to judge too much, we've had one very good 30 minute period in 2 games, against the 2 weakest teams, although both away from home.

Yesterday was a great day to be a Wasps and Liverpool fan

Not so much for my friend who supports Sarries and Aston Villa

I would have been in the pro-Daly brigade myself but credit to JJ he's nailed down his place for the moment after that. I thought even outside the tries he was always trying to make things happen. I'm a big fan of Nowell too he's always coming infield trying to make things happen. and is no slouch in defence, great in the air, big boot and knows where the try-line is

Yep Itoje looks the real deal, I'd expect Launch and Marler to be the only changes for Ireland though

I don't think Farrell and Ford is working as a partnership though, but it'll probbaly be here to stay for the campaign. On an individual basis, this was Ford's best game in a while his game mgmt and kicking from hand was spot on

Still very turgid in attack but Ireland are at a real low ebb now, ye won't have any issues against us sadly.

Wales and England will be fascinating in the extreme. Wales always grow with the tournament

Only for the first scrum then he switched back. I assume an originally misunderstood message from the coaches?

Do you think the way Saracens are playing at the moment is down to Paul Gustard not being their defensive coach anymore

They were missing those players last week (bar Itoje) and saw off second place Exeter last week, it's not like they have been playing badly for last 3 weeks.

They just had a bad day at the office. Saints turned them over at their ground in the play off last season, so it's not like Allianz Park is totally a fortress.

While I think we'll (England) do ok against Ireland, due to the injuries, and I think France won't be a problem, my main concern is Wales. Without proper 6 & 7's as shown in WRC we'll get taken to the cleaners. I also fear Roberts and North running through our centres. We have no one capable of stopping them, Farrell will just be a "speed bump" to Roberts and if North decides to come in the centre looking for work, him and Roberts will tear through us.

And please for the love of god stop going in at the side, we seem to be the only team that do this on a regular basis.

I disagree on Farrell's defence. From when he was 18 people have been trying this and he just puts his body on the line. Watch him closely and he's one of those players who's hits defy his size... probably something to do with his dad. I'm sure Roberts will be used but he'll continue his "no more than 3m" rule.

I can't see Farrell stoping Roberts, there's very few players in the world who can, and I don't think Farrell's one of them. Plus he's going to take some hits are we then going to see the petulant Farrell rear it's ugly head, like we saw against Scotland and pushing Laidlaw out?

Yep Farrell is very solid in defence

Cipriani to Wasps. Great signing. And rumours of Pocock again! Looks like they're going to become a force again, good to see!

Pocock rumour has been denied by Dai, which I'm kinda happy about. We're suddenly getting linked with all manner of players, which is slowly making us sound like Toulon (which I don't think is a good thing).

Nice to have Danny back, but I do wonder how we're meant to juggle 3 fly halves.

It's a team defence that England will use, so it wouldn't just fall to Farrell. It mainly worked in RWC for England until the annoying set of replacements that Lancaster always did. Australia coped even when down to 13 men.

Also bar the one incident Owen was pretty level headed for the rest of the game. I sometimes feel that his bad discipline is overstated, it's not like he's getting yellow carded in every game.

Remember Gopperth is 33 so is probably on borrowed time! I was sure Danny was destined for Quins but I guess he feels he has unfinished business at Wasps

Yep farrell is always painted out as some sort of villain (both him and Brown are in Ireland) but I agree once he doesn't get carded what's the issue?

I'd much rather a passionate Mike Brown with a bit of steel in him to the overrated Rob Kearney tbh

O'Brien, McCarthy and Kearney out for the rest of Six Nations

Well done France, your dirty tactics paid off.

O'Brien went over on his ankle in fairness

Donncha Ryan starting next week LOL. He wouldn't make England's 5th choice team I make it.

Must be 12 years since Ireland were such outsiders hitting twickenham? and rightfully so!

12 years ago was 2004 when they became the first team to beat England as World Champions. Most would only write Ireland off at their peril, especially being underdogs.

Got a sneaking feeling that Ireland will win at Twickenham. We (Wales) will then lose their after beating France in Cardiff. Meaning the decider could well be France v England in Paris as the final game.

Typical of the French to call up somebody and then find he isn't allowed to play!

saw that alright! looks like they're in a bit of bother in the wing department. Fofana must be still out?

Despite the positive result I wasn't impressed at all with them vs Ireland, I think Wales could give them a bit of a hiding to be honest
