I don't think it was much of an accident the second and third times Brown kicked at the man with the ball ref FFS.

Some really dirty stuff from Farrell earlier and now Brown.

There's a hell of a lot of cynical defending by England that's gone unpunished by the ref.

What the heck's happened to Ireland? Didn't think they would be this bad

Players retired/injuries - not the same Irish threat.

I hope Brown or Farell don't get cited. If only so Wales can wind em up into red cards next game

England scored two fine tries which've made the difference. Good effort from Ireland.
I thought they were going to wilt after the first half but they kept in it.

They haven't been that bad at all. Came close to scoring a few times themselves and had the ref been stricter on England's cynical defending, the scoreline would probably have been closer.

He's still bitter about being left out of the Lions team and still believes it was a mistake by Warren Gatland not to select him for the third and final match ....... even though the Lions did just fine without him, and won the match and the series.

Talk about self importance and wanting to wallow in his own limelight.

Just the defeats i meant and so forth. Didn't think they would be still winless at this stage

Yes but they've been unlucky : drew against a top class Wales and lost by 3 points in France.....those are very fine margins.

Perhaps Murray should not have been holding on to the ball on the ground ? I think the second kick clipped Murray as Brown was pushed off balance at the ruck.
Maybe there was a bit of 'collateral damage' approach as Brown did target and kick the ball.
Anyhow 2 yellows seemed (un)fair play.

You did a wonderful job of ****ing the quotes up, I still don't get the dislike of him,

Anyways, good on England, a wins a wins

Holding on whilst on the ground is no longer an excuse for repeatedly kicking at an opponent as well as the ball. Maybe in the amateur games you's expect a shoeing but it was pretty clear from the tv camera's.

Brown used to be a player I liked but he's shown real petulance during and since the World Cup in an England shirt.

Ireland were much better after half time but the game should have been done and dusted in the first half. England as ever being their own worst enemies with indiscipline and poor handling.

The 2nd half then turned into the Romain Poite Show.

Too much violin playing and excuses from Irish fans on twitter.

England were the better team and won.

Yes, I thought they deserved to win and they're a very good side.

Good effort by Ireland though, they certainly weren't outclassed and could have gone a lot closer on the scoreboard with a bit more luck.

I know he is the captain so probably has to say this but its a bit ironic isn't it!

As much as I think Hartley has carried himself well since getting the captaincy this does make me laugh!

The no John Inverdale and bonus Jonny Wilkinson (turning into a great pundit) means that I'm enjoying ITV's coverage more than BBC's , which is weird. English bias aside, but you get that on the Beeb too.

Mike Brown is an idiot and the most petulant player in the game today. Overshadows his many talents sadly.

England were decent yesterday, but Ireland were poor outside Sexton. England/Wales should be interesting....

Agreed. The first one was an accident but, from watching in on the replay, the side of his boot clips Murray on the first one, making it clear that there was a player there. Carrying on kicking about a second and third time makes it not an accident imo.

Just read that Haskell has been sin binned more times than any other player in the 6N. Wonder if he will survive much longer in the England camp? I see a few questions have been raised about him earlier in the thread. Or will 'disciplinarian' Dylan sort him out ?!

I do wonder if England can beat Wales. Wales played Ireland when Ireland had a full team, in Ireland and Wales lost a key player basically from the off and had a forced replacement before kick off, and Wales are traditionally poor starters in tournaments, and they still managed a draw.

England did a good job of holding Ireland in their own 22 for 90% of the first half but failed to score any points. And all these stupid penalties. I don't get how a team which likes the "ruck and maul" style of play can give away so many penalties by "coming in from the side". Surely this must be an area where they train.

Ireland didn't have near a full team v wales

Anyhow well done England, should be a slam and a championship now. Definitely seem to have a bit more steel to them already under Jones. Need to really improve their pressure-to-points conversion going forward though.

As for Ireland, this was always a write off campaign and I said before the tournament I expected them to lose the first 3. As it transpired got a point off Wales so maybe not too bad in the circumstances. should be looking to win the last two now and hopefully will have close to a full squad for the AIs and next season

Lot of injuries, confidence on the floor since the WC, club teams going awful, Head Coach picking players on rep over form.

Should win the last two though and may sneak 3rd which wouldn't be all bad in the circumstances

England and Wales seriously aren't much more than mediocre sides at the top level. England have potential to improve but would be blitzed by SH sides at the minute

Totally agree - he's been a revelation. Do think they need to put Jason Robinson & Gordan D'Arcy on boxes (like the old westerns with Alan Ladd) when speaking to Martin Bayfield though.

Are you trying to say that the Irish team that played Wales wasn't a full side. It was as near as dam it, they've lost 3/4 players since then. They even said on the TV that the subs bench is all but used and the players now on the bench, are the 24-30 position or so players.
