AGree, SL was just way too nice really

EJ has added some great steel to them. They're becoming unlikeable again which is exactly how they'll want it

I agree with most of this re Jones (Stuart Lancaster was just too nice) but I did think his comments about Sexton's parents were almost crossing the line.

(enjoy a team with Joe Marler in it complaining about the opposition scrumming illegally too )

Also Welsh and also looking forward to the game. I think England may steal it but hopefully not; can't see there being much in it either way!

This is embarrassing.
It's as though Italy are only playing with 13.

England have displayed too much imprecision to break down Shaun Edwards defensive line. Biggar will punish the English high infringement count to gives Wales a win by 6-9 points.

Just frustrating watching that after their last couple of games. Nine tries? I know it's Italy, but where's this form been?

Italy are ominously getting worse by the season. gaps galore all over the pitch. The Connacht team (traditionally Ireland's worst province) would have beaten them by 20+ today

They just don't have the squad or resources to be competitive. they have a good game or two in them at the start of each campaign but are decimated by the latter stages. they could ship 60 to wales next week

The club teams are losing pretty much every week against depleted Irish, Scottish and Welsh sides

Time for promotion/relegation? I'd go as far as saying that (along with the Welsh match last year) was the worst performance I've seen in 6n history

Absolutely buzzing for this

Winner takes a six nations Championship (barring a miracle next week)

Do or die stuff, that's what it's all about!

C'mon Wales!!

TBF to Italy you were gifted at least two of your tries today, plus they should have scored in the first half when it was still 0-0. A good win for Ireland today, but not much can be learnt from that.

I think the summer tours for all the NH teams are a better gauge of where we all our. At the moment everyone is suffering from a RWC hangover. Whoever wins this year's 6N tournament will be the most underwhelming champions in a long while.

Nearly time for the big one. I hope England can win, but it'll almost certainly go down to the wire.

Blimey, what medicine have England taken? Conceded only 2 penalties and are disciplined and direct. Wales looking out of sorts.
They have targeted billy with reasonable success but itoje is having a great game.

There isn't enough words to describe Itoje's performances. he is potentially an absolute great

Best half of Rugby by England since NZ 2012. When big Manu and Care come on they could cut loose altogether. Absolute massacre

Oh and ANthony watson really is a classy player

On track to become their best winger since Jason Robinson.

Close to bottling it.

Nowhere near good enough from England in the second half but managed to hold on to the win.

Brown trouser time there.
Wales taking advantage of the man down and too many subs and positional changes by England.
All I could think of at the last welsh lineout was Scott Gibbs at Wembley.

Christ almighty, massivley arse twitching finish but we held in there. World Cup revenge extracted

No matter, we'll get the win back in Cardiff in 2017

Let England enjoy their Grand Slam this year, as they won;t lose to France in the final round of matches

Dat finish tho!!

Agree with the RTE studio though, wales should clearly have been down to 14. That said where was that last ten from them before?

Anyhow England were overall the better side and have been comfortably the best team in the Championship. SL was unlucky not to win the Slam in 2014 but looks like EJ (barring a miracle next week against the worst French team in memory) will do so the first time of asking. Not too shabby

Ominously, they can only get better. Kruis (my player of the tournament), Itoje, vunipola and Launch are all potential world class players and Manu gives them a whole new attacking dimension. Watson and Jack Nowell are two classy wingers and both only 22. They'll be the team to beat in the NH for the foreseeable

Good while since Wales have beat England in the 6n at this stage

wales have hit a ceiling, while England are on a real road to improvement under a top class coach

Is this the eye rake?
I didn't understand the tmo about needing more angles to decide. No. 18 hand came up which surely was deliberate.

Did the ref give up on the scrums in the end and just do 'one for you and one for you'?

If the eye rake occured before Cole was penalised and carded should not the card have been recinded?

Seemed like a real cop-out from the officials. Conor O'Shea was fuming in the studio

How he escaped without even a yellow was madness. he'll get a stint from the citing commissioner surely though.

I think it just sort of happened and there wasn't a huge pile of malice in it but it's a fierce thorny issue and something that can't be taken lightly

Something I wondered when wales were launching their comeback. Joe Launch came in for Kruis. Why didn't they take off Brookes instead and play with a hard tackling, ground-covering lock forward rather than a slow and ponderous front row? in the case of a scrum, Brookes would have to come on anyway.

When down to 14 they should really have been looking to get any advantage they could

Cole was already lying over the ball, off his feet and deserved yellow. Remember, England were warned what would happen at the next penalty infringement.
