Yeah it's a bit of a terrible list. I think they didn't want to go too English heavy, but I think Kruis is definitely a big miss and I could make a case for Robshaw.

Itoje was fantastic but he only played 3 games, and to be honest he came a little off the boil against France.

Guirado, Hogg, North, Davies and Taylor I agree with.

The french winger played well against England but didn't actually score, and I've never seen someone run into touch so often. Sexton and Murray just feels like "we need to include someone Irish", and the same with Parisse when Campagnaro was fantastic and would be in my team of the tournament.

Farrell over Joseph for me as well.

^^ Itoje was good, and certainly a breath of "fresh air" that England needed but as you say he played 20mins in one game and then 2 full games, at least he got man of the match.

I think Kruis is a big miss, and even Farrell did very well. Farrell's gone back up in my books, he played the Number 12 spot well and still kept his kicking on game too. Ok he did make a few limp miss tackles and missed a few kicks in the last game, but overall he's been better than JJ.

I do wonder if JJ's attacking game suffered slightly by having Farrell at 12, feeling he had to defend more than attack.

Overall a good tournament but I do wonder about Brown and Nowell, I like Nowell but wonder if Yard would give us a better attacking game. And Brown was below par, made quite a few wrong decisions, that may of cost us games and against a Southern Hemisphere side we can't make those.

Can't leave Brown out really, he's been a colossus at international level since 2013.

I actually think Nowell is probably England's must underrated player. I daresay for the first time in over a decade England might well have just found two consistent starting top wingers

Way too many have flattered to deceive in recent times

Stuart Hogg Player of the Tournament

In fairness these awards can be daft at the best of times, but how Vunipola didn't get this..

Granted Roberts and Kruis weren't nominated, but it was the general public who voted.

Another cross code move...

Will this one be a success?

Saracens once again proving when they have all the internationals back no-one can live with them in the league. Hope Exeter enjoyed their short stay at the top

On form I'd have to fancy them for Europe too. Arguably the three form players in Europe in their pack. They have no weaknesses and scary depth

Agree, additionally they've got one of the best wingers in the league fresh off a 10 week rest and ready to make a point for the June tour down under.

No one else really looks to have the quality other than maybe Wasps if they stay on it. I think Wasps on fire against a Sarries side with one eye on Europe could be an upset but outside of that no one is getting close.

Gloucester are shocking, Bath have really dropped off and need to sort out their fly half and back row ridiculousness. I'm loving Sale doing well with their youngsters but once again they're going to lose some of their best in the summer.

Argentina to move game to Twickenham.

I wonder if their is a suitable stadium in Spain? Would be a marketing opurtunity for World Rugby. Like Ireland v New Zealand in Chicago in November. With the USA hosting a game in Chicago the night before,

You'd think Nou Camp or Bernabéu would be up for hosting a match. Maybe it was too short notice and Twickers was easier as there's no club team to worry about.

Isn't the Nou Camp hosting the final of the Top 14 or something? I am sure I read it sold out already but can't remember what the match is.

Yeah I read that on Sunday in The Rugby Paper (Top 14 Final), so it's not like they had a problem with rugby being played on the pitch.

I'm guessing this is less of an issue and La Liga may be finished by the time of the final, whereas Rugby Championship happens in October right at the start of the new season.

Pity Argentina can't play that match down in Spain as they could get a good sized partisan crown to barrack against the aussies.

I wonder now if it will be a more civil affair at Twickers with more aussies in the crowd for it. London used to be a place with many aussies living there and they might get more support for their side.

Well it's finally over with and he's rightly been disciplined. Despite social media trying to hijack it as an England v Wales issue. If the RFU had dealt with it properly in the week following the incident then it wouldn't have go this far. The RFU and from the Wales perspective Gatland also deserve reprimands for spouting their opinions on the matter to the media.

A decent precedent is set but it is still a shame Harlequins will be the ones without him for a two games. England were good enough to win the Slam without him and he shouldn't have appeared in Paris.

My only issue with it is the consistency.

Calling someone a "faggot" is no ban and a 5000 fine, calling someone "gypsy boy" is 2 week ban and 20000 fine.

I'm just thankful it's over. The furor over it was embarrassing, more so in that Lee himself wasn't bothered and has been said before it is his actual nickname in the squad (which makes it more farcical).

At least Marler was paid 15000 for playing in the France game (which he would have been banned for) which covers 3/4 of the fine, and he can console himself with being a grand slam winner.

I hope this is all over, but fear it won't be. If not calls for the ban to be longer, more just the need to carry on reporting on the story ("X reacts to Marler", "Y what the Marler bans says about modern rugby" etc etc).

I understand the principle that Marler should have received a greater punishment than what was effectively a verbal warning. The 6N committee did themselves no favours by saying "yes he's guilty of code breach, but we're not gonna sanction him.". For all the flak RFU are getting, they probably felt (no quite rightly) that they couldn't charge him for the same offence twice. Hence they stated the matter was closed.

World Rugby on the other can seemingly do whatever they like. My only concern is whether this means that they will intervene whenever there is a big enough outcry in relation to punishments that are or aren't given. Kruis and Wilson have just found not guilty of biting and contact with face area respectively, but there is footage showing them doing that. Yet weeks early both Ashton & Francis have been found guilty of Wilson's charge, with barely any difference between the three incidents. Does World Rugby not think that deserves looking at or is just because Marler was found guilty and not punished that they got involved?

Anyway here's hoping rugby can move on and we can get back to matter on the field.

What a weekend of rugby. Some great results in the ECC, the wasps finish was remarkable and Goperth's kick was incredible. I know it's cliche but it's crazy how well they do in the last 10 minutes of matches. George Smith is playing incredible rugby right now. Nowell, although on a losing side was incredible. He was everywhere, involved in so much, I've not seen wing play like that in years.

Sarries made harder work of a weak Northampton side but are through and will be happy.

Leicester looked good but although SdF have pedigree they've been atrocious this season and Dan Carter's Racing will be a different game all together.

Northampton have really gotten poor haven't they? The win is all that matters for Sarries though. Hard to look past them and Metro in the final, although wasps really cannot be discounted

Gloucester had an awful result in the Challenge Cup, while Connacht's defeat ends all Irish interest in Europe. Hard to look past two English-French finals

I was at the game on Saturday, the ending was pure drama. Loads of people in the crowd couldn't bear to watch. Credit to Goperth for nailing the kick, but also credit to Rob Baxter for his gracious post match comments.

Once of the best matches I've seen and I'm really glad I saw it live. Onwards to the semi against Sarries, I'm gonna try and get tickets on Weds when they go on general sale (as our initial allocation has sold out).

Great time to be a Wasps fan.

It was a great game to be at.

If your after tickets you don't have to wait till Wednesday's general sale. Sarries have their allocation on general, and you can buy them from Reading FC as well

It's so good watching Wasps and Sarries at the minute. If you listen to Podcasts the guys who do Eggchasers are brilliant. One of them raised a good point about salary caps, in that because the English Premiership is so low compared to the others they invest a lot more in coaches and analysis and the set up so we're starting to see some really exciting modern styles of play. The french teams don't necessarily need to develop as much as player for player they're are that much better.

Sarries and Wasps should both be given a lot of credit for bringing youth through as well, Sarries it often gets overlooked but they've brought through a lot and even picked up players others didn't want and made them fantastic.

I waited anyway, got my tickets pretty easily.

Can't wait for the match, should be a good one.
