Phenomenal performance so far, they're not even giving NZ a whiff of a chance of scoring.

I wouldn't jinx it yet, as NZ have blown teams away in the second half even when the other side has had the better of the first half, but things are looking rosy for Ireland so far.

Competitive first half between Ireland and New Zealand. NZ were resorting to type trying to injure the best irish players out of the game. One down twenty to go so I think the referee will get wise to that strategy. Half time score Ireland 25 New Zealand 8

Very rare though that NZ are chasing a 17 point deficit at half time. Fingers crossed Ireland can get their first win over them, they were desperately unlucky in that famous game three years ago and fully deserved to win that day.

Another try for Ireland!

And NZ respond with two of their own.....if Ireland lose this one, they are absolutely jinxed with the All Blacks.

Very impressive - been close before but finally got over the line.

Think Ireland play the Kiwis again in a few weeks (at the Aviva)

Poor defeat for Wales score line wise -again have a poor record against the Aussise thought they might give more of a game?

Missed the Warren Gatland influence?

The second NZ game is in a fortnight at the Aviva (I assume they'll be smarting now and gunning for revenge). Perhaps one big difference between this Irish performance this time and the one three years ago is that Ireland scored more points in the second half tonight than the first. They tore out of the traps last time but maybe ran out of steam a little in the last 15 minutes and that's what cost them the match.

Wales were not very impressive today. Played well at times but gave away some soft tries.

New Zealand are human after all

Well done Ireland

Less said about Wales the better, absolutely awful from start to finish against a team who got thumped by NZ and blown away by England

Well done Ireland, fantastic result.

Glad the All Blacks lost, it was boring for me watching them win all the time.

It does rugby good to show that New Zealand are beatable.

Nearly getting overlooked in all this that Ireland have a very good side at the moment : beat South Africa in SA during the summer and have now beaten the All Blacks.

True, Ireland should have sealed a series win against South Africa in the summer.

Makes for an interesting Six Nations next year. As things stand they and England have to be the favourites.

I'd agree, both of them look to have very strong squads at the moment......it could be a fascinating tournament.

Incidentally Ireland faced the Haka tonight in a figure of eight in tribute to the late Anthony Foley, lovely tribute :

I have never been so proud of the boys! Epic performance from them and it was a fantastic game.

I'm still buzzing today

best game I've seen for quite a while. The Americans with Irish ancestry turning out in droves too. Should do wonders for rugby popularity in the USA too.

Seconded on Ireland, one of those very brilliant days as a Rugby Supporter for the Irish. Where the planets align and the performance and result is perfection. The second test in Dublin will be brutal!!

I think Australia had improved since the England series win and Rugby Championship performances but there is no excuse for Wales.

What exactly has Howley taken on board from Gatland during his six odd years as assistant?
Nothing by the look of yesterday. Excuses after the final whistle included the Aussies had been together longer due to the Rugby Championship, where as this was Wales first game of the season together. Ireland then blew that theory out of the water by downing the double World Champions.
Once the Lions tour is done and hopefully a success given Ireland and England's current strength, Gatland needs to shake up his coaching team severely. With a man in place to take over after the next World Cup and definitely not Howley which seems to be the crazy plan.

New Zealand sides probably feel a bit sick of the Irish.

After the national side lost to Ireland their Maoris lost to Munster in slightly differeñt conditions to the weather in Chicago.

Huw Jones looks like a top quality player, a great find. Rare to have a home nations player that plays outside of Europe.
