Made to look flat by the Irish intensity and defence to be honest.

Ireland should see this out now and we might as well congratulate England on an unbeaten 2016 now. Wallabies could be well beaten at Twickenham next week.
Yes indeed, Ireland have completely dominated possession, territory and chances whilst Australia pulled a try back against the run of play. You would imagine the Irish will win it comfortably, unless there is an asonishing turnaround in the second half.

Australia have come out with all guns blazing and scored another try, now 17-14........this could be an almighty battle.

What Ireland didn't want was another Aus try. They have it and now Ireland have more backs out injured.
Foley gets the con
17-14, 48mins.

Conceding on the stroke of halftime is always a damned nuisance, it gives the other team impetus going into the break.

Got to agree with Brian Moore this is the worst SA side I've ever seen, certainly since they came back in the 90s anyway.

Three tries conceded in 20 mins is not good at all from the Irish viewpoint. It's been the proverbial 'game of two halves' up until now.

SA converted try in 20-13 setting up a massive last ten minutes.

Wales really shot ourselves in the foot as we should be far enough ahead.

Great Irish try to put them back in front.
It's converted from the touchline

That's more like it : first time the Irish put them under sustained pressure in this half.

27-13 in Cardiff and Wales beat SA for only the third time.

Tipuric man of the match, we need to move Warburton to 6 and give Tips a run in the 7 jersey.

Ireland grind out the win. In truth, Australia would have been rather lucky to win it : they had a brilliant 20 minute spell where they scored three tries but that was about it for them.

Well done Ireland.Beating SA,NZ and Aus in a calendar year.

Three of the Rugby Championship sides beaten today. Praying for France to make it four now against NZ.

Problem is NZ are a step above the other three, a very hard side to beat.

It has been a great day so far for Northern Hemisphere rugby

When was the last time England, Wales and Ireland beat Southern Hemisphere opposition on the same day

It may not have happened until today in the pro era.

NZ lead 3-10 in Paris but France showing great pace in attack. Just knocked on over the line half an hour played.
