France 16-24 with five minutes left in Paris.
French have played well but blown a few key passes in the pursuit of more tries.Scoring pass for their try was sublime though. France have a pen on 77mins 19-24 now. Still a chance for the French. |

19-24 final score to NZ
Mighty effort from France.Signs of a faster offloading game from Guy Noves side. Very good day for Northern Hemisphere rugby overall. |

Guy Noves' Toulouse were the most fun to watch in France. He likes to play what I'd call proper french rugby. Maybe not enough top level french players in top french clubs to be right up there but they worship the All Blacks in France and always have good games against them.
As for the Boks, this is the worst coached side ever. I still think quite a number of the players are very good players, if not quite at the level of previous teams, but not as bad as Coetzee has made them look. Just hope more of them don't jump ship for Europe and Japan. Coetzee has no dignity or would resign immediately. |

Anyone watch the England women?
I thought that they played very well against Canada, great to see them doing well in front of the live cameras, shame about the lack of spectators though, it would have been nice if more people had watched them. |

Hooray! Sense has finally been seen!
I'd be more on board in there were an equal number of home and away match/everybody played each other twice. That's not logistically feasible though. It'll be interesting to see how this works. |

Bad idea IMO. Basically iwhoever manages to hammer Italy the most, wins?
Say you won all five games but not scoring four or more tries, you would get 5*4 for wins, plus 3 for the Slam gives 23 points Say you won four games and thrashed Italy and scored 4 tries in each game (or in your only lost game you lost by less than 7 points) you would get 4*4 for wins plus 5 bonus points in each game gives 21 points. (or perhaps 22 if you score 4 tries in the one you lose and also lose by less than 7 points - not sure if you can get 2 bonus points in one game). So the Slam team would still come top. |

Okay that works for me
![]() You must be able to get 2 bonus points in a match which is why you get 3 for the Slam so you will be the winner. |

I did sit down with pen and paper first, as it did seem a bit odd.

England gradually asserting control over the fairly impressive ozs who had a good first half.
England now leading 30 points to 16. With 20 mins to go. |

Well done England on a superb unbeaten 2016, what a turn around from that World Cup exit a year ago.
Hope Gatland takes as much of the England and Ireland coaching staff with him as he can for the Lions tour to NZ, along with the majority of players. It could be a great series. Now bring on the Six Nations. |

Not a bad autumn for the north I suppose
![]() England - Have to be red hot favourites to win the 6 Nations in 2017, totally unstoppable at the moment and it's hard to see where they will slip up. Eddie Jones has done a superb job turning them around. Ireland - Second favourites to win the 6 Nations, superb win against New Zealand in Chicago and pushed the All Blacks all the way back in Dublin. Very good performance in that last minute win over Australia France - Between them and Ireland for 2nd and 3rd place, depends on which France turns up at the 6 Nations Wales - 3 out of 4 wins this autumn, less said about those performances against Australia and Japan the better. Very fortunate to get over the line against Argentina and I dread to think what South Africa would have done to Wales had the real South Africa turned up. Gatland will be a BIG miss come 6 Nations time, and I feel it will be a mini league between ourselves, Scotland and Italy for 4th, 5th and to avoid the wooden spoon. Scotland - Pushed Australia all the way and were very unlucky to lose that one. Probably won't get close to England or Ireland in the 6 Nations, but could do Wales over next time around Italy - They will be encouraged by that win over South Africa, and won't be the pushover everyone expects |

Warren Gatland named his principle coaching team for the Lions tour to NZ next summer earlier today.
Steve Borthwick- Forwards Coach Andy Farrell- Defence Coach Rob Howley-Attack Coach More than happy with Borthwick and Farrell who have done great things with England and Ireland this year. Howley less so, although you know Gats always likes to have somebody he's worked with before around. The better pool of playing talent to choose from might bring something better out of Rob Howley's attack than we've seen with Wales. |
