Clermont were much the better team & played nearly all the rugby but Toulon's mental strength prevailed.

Australia name initial 25-man squad for Lions Tests

Robbie Deans has been hit by a few recent injuries and for the time being Beale is out of the squad

This is just backing up my initial thoughts... how it can be any less than a 3-0 series to the Lions is beyond me.

Quite clearly Toulon are the Chelsea / Man City of rugby. A money-laden chairman buying "top" players with the result of buying league and European titles. It's no wonder the money has turned already idiotic young rugby players into idiotic rich thugs.

Toulon are only the 6th (or possibly 5th) biggest spenders in France. Clermont are higher spenders than them.

I think this issue is French teams are all spending big, something the British isles teams can't compete with..... yet

In their defence I wouldn't really call half their players like that... sure Armitage is a complete fist, but he always has been... Henson didn't last long, and SBW only did a season.

Look at 90% of their players and they are hard working professionals. Botha, Wilkinson, Giteu, Shaw, Elsom...

Two big finals taking place tomorrow

I'll be at Twickers to see Leicester take on Northampton. Not many people fancy Saints' chances, especially after the recent thrashing by Tigers at Franklin Gardens.

I'm hoping it will be an entertaining match, not that bothered who wins to be honest.

As for the Rabo Pro12, will Leinster's decision to rest key players in last week's Amlin Cup triumph help them to beat Ulster and win title for the first time since 2008?

They have a decent collection of Lions players in their squad, so it's possible they may be distracted

If Ulster win I daresay they will dedicate the win to Nevin Spence

Yeah, I'm hoping for a big Tigers win... and for Croft/Cole/Youngs/Hartley/Manu to come through injury free...

Rabo 12 I would love to see Ulster win it for Nevin... I'm still shocked by it.

Dylan Hartley sent off for dissent in the Premiership final so could he be banned for the Lions Tour?

Not the first time he has had a few disclipline issues I believe either..

He called the referee a f*cking cheat. That can get him well into trouble for the Lions tour I guess.

It was directed at Tom Youngs he says..........could it be another Alan Quinlan scenario whereby a result of a moment of madness means he wll hand his Lions kit back before flying? I hope not but he does have 'previous'.

We were all confused in the stands as to why he was sent off. I'm some Saints fans in the upper tier of the North Stand didn't like the result, as there some drinks chucked onto the people in front me in the middle tier.

Anyway it was an entertaining match, though you do wonder how different the result would have been with 15 men apiece.

Great send of Castro, even as a neutral Wasps fan I enjoyed the atmosphere amongst a sea of of Leicester fans

Well it isn't a very nice thing to call a potential team-mate!

The clip I saw on SSN showed the ref warning him about his language a few minutes before this incident stating that "if you dont curb your language I'll have to do something about it" (or words to that effect)

Seems stupid not to take heed of a warning like that irrespective of whom it was directed at

Agree. He made it as clear as he possibly could do (when Hartley had stopped interjecting!). A shame that a player missed the tour of a lifetime but I could see not alternative. Allsubject to appeal so you never know...........

Quite! There is a world of difference between directing at a fellow combatant and another (in rugby union at least - anything goes in football) directing it at the referee (a qualified barrister in case that matters!). He could have got on with the game and headbutted the wall in the dressing room seconds later if he really could not keep it in! I believe he was in the running for England captain before Robshaw got it (Wood would have been chosen if not injured I think) so his 'previous' might have ruled him out in Lancaster's eyes.

The man's a liability. Banned for 11 weeks. He shouldn't be allowed to put an England shirt again. Misses the Lions tour as well. Rory Best called in as a replacement.

Best has technically been brought in as an addition.........Hartley not yet ruled out pending appeal.

He's admitted saying but not to the ref. Can't see him winning an appeal.

No qualms about Hartley's dismissal and ban especially as Rory Best is back in form. However Leicester coach Richard Cockerill's antics, not for the first time, were appalling trying to influence officials. Lawes was committed to the tackle on Flood, who actually got concussed when he caught Coles' knee. Ironic in football, that Hartley's foul language would have been ignored yet a manager would have been slapped down if they replicated Cockerill's behaviour.

Agreed on that. It will be a major regret for the rest of his days.

Agree he is a liability and not at all a good candidate for a Lions tour where we can't have that kind of thing affecting the tour... I disagree regarding his inclusion for England squads though... he is a good player, and certainly up with Youngs as the only international class hooker we have.

I'm not a fan of Barnes, was very good about 3 years ago but he's followed Owens and Walsh into the "I want to be a famous referee" club... too busy making the game about themselves.

Even as an avid Leicester fan richard Cockerill continually pisses me off... whether it's his touchline antics, blaming everyone else or his insistence that if a good young player comes up he has to "pay his dues"...

Blooming Warburton has managed to injure himself already... I can't say I'm shocked.
