or you are English.
haha, there does seem to be an element of BBC and DM style reporting of the English players... the Welsh are definitely a step above in terms of reporting.

Andy Powell driving a buggy down a motorway... kicked out the squad once, back in and rightly observed for his playing ability.

That said the English lads don't help themselves (although I don't understand the hate of Ashton, just because he does the ash splash...)

Grant called over to cover for Gethin Jenkins...

So is that Corbs in for Healey who's now officially out and Grant is in Australia on "stand by"...

you beat me to it

BBC Rugby

interesting why bring in Grant if Corbs is cover for Healy (unless he's got lost on his flight from Argentina)

Maybe someone else is injured???

edit: it would help if I bothered to read the story I linked to - doh!

Grant is cover for Jenkins

Im surprised Grant wasn't first choice, he did a good job against Adam Jones in the 6 nations which as we know isnt easy. Corbs has been injured and out of action. Odd choice.

that's what I was thinking, there's even a (slight) case for having Marler ahead of Corbs in the Lions pecking order

At least they've corrected the error now, can't see him not playing. It would be a huge waste of time flying injury cover and then not using them

Now Wade needs to get called up and I'll be a happy bunny

Leave him for England. A backline with Burns, Eastmond, Wade, Foden and May is one of the most exciting in years.

Pity they're not all starting and the latter not even in the 23 but Twelvetrees and Strettle deserve their chance.

Can't see the logic in Brown over Foden though. If they're after a replacement for Kearney I would be suprised if Gatland had them in that order.

Twelvetrees is a good selection, I don't see why Strettle deserves yet another chance. His try-scoring record for England is poor. I am surprised Sheridan has not been called up by the Lions. Keeps Jenkins on the bench at Toulon and has demolished the Australian scrum in the past.

He doesn't want to play, so I guess Gats believes him

30 mins in 7-6 to Queensland Reds, a proper contest this one

Cuthbert has struggled all game. There are about 4 or 5 wingers I would have had in the squad, who aren't there ahead of him.

Despite somebody's low estimation of him, I'd be very happy if the Australian selectors don't pick Quade Cooper.

He's still learning at this level. Surprisingly little mention of the poor Farrell chip that started the whole situation from the sky cheerleaders

I find myself agreeing with Barnes for once on this. Deans will be looking to play percentage rugby in the tests and Cooper is the antithesis of that.

I was referring to a DS poster not Stuart Barnes.

12-22 win for the Lions.

Defence and set piece need a fair bit of work before the first test in a fortnight. Gatland can't say he hasn't seen a real challenge for his squad now.

If Kearney isn't ready by Tuesday they'll probably need two replacements this early in. One absolutely must be fly half cover surely?

If they go for another back 3 player too, we're hardly short of decent options for what'll likely be 2 midweek games and maybe Test sub:

Foden, Zebo, Visser, Wade, Johnnie May wouldn't be bad for covering both.

Depends entirely on Kearney. He was playing centre when it happened.

See how Wade and Visser get on today first. Not sure if Zebo is with Ireland, but if so, him too.

Yep Zebo is in Ireland squad that's playing today. Gats has said he will bring in a replacement, hopefully it'll be a like for like winger.

Surely one of the best halves of rugby for some time was the first one of the NZ-France game this morning. Excellent.
