What a day, biggest news of the day the Japan result.

For the Lions I would be controversial and play Jonathan Davies over odriscol and off of tualiangi if Roberts is injured. He is a phenomenal player. Tuperic too over warburton.

Unlikely either of those. England result is difficult to quantify, very changed Argentina side with loss of some warhorses especially in the pack, but a result like that in Argentina with a second string team is phenomenal.

Scotland did amazingly well also.

Think they lost it with the yellow card - JH seems to be a bit of a liability in this respect. Three enforced changes may also have had an effect.

Didn't see it as I was listening to it on the radio, but I heard they were being penalised for the front row engaging too early, nothing to do with the number eight. It's something they got hit with repeatedly in the six nations so looks like they've not learned from that.
Yeh the sin bin cost them the match.
I'm sure I heard the ref saying it was a sling shot from the number 8.
Going to dig into the Internet and find out - took me two seconds! It's come in I think with the new scrum calls on engadgment. The purpose was to try and get a bit more hit from the Engadge. Now they have taken that away they are enforcing that everyone be bound on the crouch call. And two hands on shorts isn't properly bound!

random decision to call for Shane Williams

I wonder if that means Zebo is definitely a starter for Saturday and Gats is protecting him. Glad that Wade is thrown straight in the midweek side, a good performance could see him make the bench.

This is what I was hoping Simpson Daniel might have got, a one off match, give him a crack at a game like this. Shane was disappointing on the Lions in 2005 so be good to see him go out with a bang.

I still don't see Faletau starting as meaning he won't start Saturday, he could well get 40 mins.

Ah right, didn't realise there was a new law in force. Thought they were still repeating the early engage from the six nations.

As for Shane, still trying to understand that decision. OK, he's got Lions experience but he retired a year ago. Is it more to do with the logistics of getting someone to the match on time? With the game less than two days away, flying someone out from the UK would have taken up most of that time, plus Japan is on a similar time-zone so there shouldn't be too much disruption in that respect compared with the likes of sourcing a player on tour in Argentina or South Africa.

Impressive from England - the management will love to have so many options now.

What happens if Williams gets a hat-trick and is MOTM whilst another winger gets injured!?

I tihk it was more to do with logistics than anything else - he was already on the way for media duties. The trouble with Australia is it is a er, little distant! The likes of Chris Ashton might be feeling a little irked though. Inever did like his 'Ash the Splash' and as daft as it seems, that might have goen against him - that and hardly scoring a try for Enlgand in recent times!

It had to be a Welsh player in Japan or someone like Delve already out there, to get there in time. I reckon Barritt probably knew a while before it was released.

Delve is a forward............I do not think Barritt knew - he only has his gumshield with him (and that was an error!)

That's pretty much what I have but with Zebo in for 36 (as Farrell can cover centre) and Davies in for BOD.

I hear North is out which is a big loss, so maybe Zebo in for North.

I was mentioning Delve as alternative for Lydiate or Faletau as one, if not both will be involved next week.

I'd have liked Visser (wanted him anyway over Maitland) but you can't fly him in from S.A for one game, play and then fly back to play again with 6 days.

Lots of guess work for us all at this stage but I'd be surprised with that side.

Still think Faletau will start, Tuesday will be tough, I don't actually see us winning but a decent first half for him and he'll start I fancy. There's a chance Vunipola will be used from the bench. Im sure B Youngd will be in, instead of Murray.

Twelvetrees will not be in ahead of Davies, Farrell already covers 12. It all depends on which wingers are fit. Personally I'd have Cuthbert below North, Zebo, Wade and Bowe and probably Williams too. But, I could see him starting, if North isn't.

I'm not sure how bad Bowe's hand is or how playable it could be but if there's any chance he will be involved and can cover 13 unlike any other winger which will not require one on the bench.

For me, my back row would be Croft, Tipuric and Faletau and my back 3 Zebo, Wade and H/P, if North really is out.

OK, but There are no doubts over the players you mention hence it was left field IMVHO.

Gatland says North is rated less than 50-50 to be first for the first test http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/22930992

With Faletou starting I would be astonished if he is in the starting test lineup.

Actually yeah I agree on twelvetrees.

If i was picking I would have Davies in the starting lineup ahead of O'driscol and Tupiric ahead of Warburton.

Roberts is a blow... I think Manu is type for type in that respect... hoping he gets back in time, it was originally reported as a stinger so fingers crossed.

GN is a loss but it will give SZ a chance, who I think could shine and when/if GN comes back it could be AC who gets moved on to the bench.

I think whoever Lydiate comes on for could indicate who starts on the bench but you'd think Heaslip, Croft and Warbs are a certainty now.
