Well done Scotland on a great victory.
![]() Thanks for putting more pressure on Wales to beat the Aussies though ![]() The highlight of the match was probably the unintentional flying headbutt between two Scottish players at the final whistle though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wHQg...eature=related They both should've been red carded. ![]() ![]() Kudos to them though. Whod've thought it would be the wooden spooners to take the first Southern Hemisphere scalp of the summer? |

poor weather and great team perfomance from Scotland ---- great fightback from Wales, but Australia were just a class above kinda dreading the England game later. If we don't win against an undercooked South Africa, then we're gonna find it harder for the second and third tests |

Wales and Ireland pretty poor. Welsh handling atrocious squandered overlaps. England game to tough to call but hopefully they can put up more of a fight.

S.A turn down 3 points right in front of the post, lose turnover from the first phase. Only 11-6 up.

Another uncoverted SA try, England straight back with a penalty - 16-9 but a good position spurned. Brown injured in their try.

All over, 22-17 Foden scored after the hooter.
Pretty drab, 2nd half a non-event played entirely between half-way line & our 22 and full of dropped balls from both sides & reset scrums. Tuilangi played really well but still no midfield flair whatsoever from us. |

horrible day for the NH, I thought at least 2 of the games would end in victories, even if narrow ones. Seems like, after everything that was said during the 6N, Wales still aren't good enough to compete with the big boys.
England need a new midfield, Brad Barrit was invisible for most of the game, and Mike Brown should go home. Him over Ben Foden at full back? No thank you! I also want to say all three games were marred by poor reffing. Basically, what I've learnt from today is that the big three southern hemisphere teams can pretty much do what they want and get away with it. Not a good day for Owens, Joubert or Walsh. How Walsh is still even on the elite refs list is beyond me. He's been awful for 10 years. |

How Walsh is still even on the elite refs list is beyond me. He's been awful for 10 years. The brutality of the breakdown and the carrying of the Boks was key in the England game. I was sat in a pub with some idiot who kept saying why dont they tackle them quicker. I am thinking, if Willem Alberts was running at me at full tilt I would probably fake a hamstring injury. They were so physical. Pocock proved he was the best openside in the world by a longshot today. Lydiate was incredible with some of his chop tackles. but Wales didnt look threatening in attack. Ireland will be lucky to get within 20 points of the all blacks in the next two tests. |

Pocock is a wonderful player, but he's turning into an Aussie Richie McCaw, he cheats when he doesn't need to. He can turn a ball over just by looking at it, so he doesn't need to endlessly plough in from the side, seal off, or go off his feet to win them. The rucks nowadays are damn near impossible to ref.
Yeah the Boks were more brutal than us going forward. our best two thrusts forward came when Tuilagi bounced off DeVilliers. Not enough forwards were doing that. we were taking the ball, hitting contact, going half a metre then falling down, nowhere near physical enough, Mike Brown is a fantstic player for Harlequins, I just thought he looked out of his depth today. Loads of ball and did pretty much nothing with it, took lots of contact but didn't look half the player he did for Harelquins. I agree about Ireland. Kidney is doing something drastically wrong if he can't take a squad made up of players from the two Heineken cup final teams and make them gel. |

. If Australia had been more clinical in that first half, Wales would have been blown away Lot of grit from Wales to fight back a little in the second half although it was ultimately fruitless Can see Wales squeezing a win in Melbourne or Sydney, Brisbane was a big ask as Australia are really good there One thing we've learnt from these first round of matches, the South can be very clinical with their finishing and Wales especially found that out more than once On to the second round of matches: New Zealand v Ireland - Another stroll for the world champions Australia v Wales - Could go either way South Africa v England - Didn't see much of this match but heard it was not good. Thinking a much better match 2nd time around. |

yeah I meant England and Wales when I said 2 of the games could have been won. Ireland were always up against it, especially in NZ. In Ireland they might have kept it a little closer.
As long as we don't have Steve Walsh reffing again I can see England taking one game, and probably Wales one game, but I doubt either team will win their series now. |
