The version I read yesterday said that Hensons team mates were continually taking the mick out of him for his Strictly appearences. He asked them to stop and they turned nasty.
From the video you can see quite clearly it's Henson getting in Fearns face with the team mates holding Fearns back.

I read that too

Henson might be a wally sometime (okay a lot of times), but that doesn't mean it's okay to throw a punch at him.

What ever the reason, somthing about him causes a hostile reaction from a lot of the teams he plays with.

I always here him painted as a victim, if you get punched on a night out then you can claim to be a victim. If you get punched everytime you socialise with your team mates then there comes a time when you have to ask why that is.

I have been playing rugby for many years and only once seen a team mate punched

maybe I've missed, but what other time has Henson been involved in a fight with teammates

The icecube thing when he was at Blues didn't result in any team fighting, as far as I can remember.

At Toulon, Matt Henjak walloped him.

However, google Matt Henjak and you'll reveal a nutter.
Henjak has previous for punching team mates; he was sacked from Western Force for breaking a team mates jaw, and has been sent home from tours for other off-field bother.

A few seasons ago, I saw the Opsreys play Toulon. All Henjak wanted to do was fight with the biggest Ospreys he could find. Alun Wyn Jones just laughed at him.

Perhaps it was because Fearns was continually taking the piss until Henson snapped?
It's easy to pick on the smaller man.

How many weeks of the new season will the Lions miss in order to receive the rest period they are rightly entitled to?

I am looking forward to domestic rugby union getting back underway and in particular to seeing how Worcester fare under Dean Ryan.

Another question - didn't the Aviva have a play-off system more akin to rugby league once upon a time? When and why did they go to top four and semis?

Maybe he is an innocent victim but look at the clubs that have binned him, look at the chances he has had.

There us bad luck and there is self inflicted pain. I am firmly of the belief that people dont get punched because they dont like having the piss taken out of them for being on a dance programme.

I bet the Cardiff Blues player loved taking part in this kit launch at the time but will face some serious dressing room abuse for it!!

Good lad... what an awesome way to launch the kit and get the community involved. More clubs should do this kind of stuff. I doubt the Wasps or Sarries players go anywhere near their community... or know where it is.

true... but in many ways it seems Haskell needs this metaphorical kick up the arse every 2 years... he has so much physical talent, if he only spent half as much time studying tape and learning about rugby rather than making videos on how to get better abs he'd be world class.

Does anybody know if the Aviva Premiership highlights will continue to be shown on ITV? I noted that Craig Doyle & Martin Bayfield are moving to BT Sport.

yes ITV secured a deal to 2016 season

It will now be presented by Mark D-S and Jill Douglas (who was doing the 7's highlights last night).

It seems like a job swap from the previous live/highlights presenters

Shame for Mark as he was a good host on ESPN, not sure that Craig is universally liked (I think he's alright tbf).

Van der Westhuizen battling motor neurone disease - link.

Didn't realise he was unwell, hadn't heard anything about him since he retired.

Sad news that Cliff Morgan has died

Always be my favourite rugby commentator, probably down to that commentary on the Baba's game in 1973

I must admit I'm more of a Bill McLaren fan but I was an 80's child. Still, sad news, but at least it gives us an excuse to watch "that try" over and over... and see Edwards in full pomp!

Eastmond injured. That's the first of the England players I was looking forward to seeing in the AIs crocked already.
