Yes, he seemed to take ages.....maybe the pressure of the moment got to him.

........I thought he was using up his full 2 mins, i.e. time wasting!

79-30 on the clock and near the 22 metre line Sexton could have had a go at a drop goal and an 8 point lead but he didn't !

Ireland should nail these opportunities when they come around otherwise they remain a what could have been team. Big variation between the performance of Ireland in the first and 2nd halves.

It's one minute - law 21.4.
To me, people have a routine for a kick and they kick successfully by sticking to the routine. If Sexton tried to waste time, then he stepped out of his routine reducing the chances of success.

I think they were tiring in the second half, especially in the last few minutes after the ferocious first half performance they had given.

It's a match they should never have lost though. It's not as if NZ gave a sensational second half performance, far from it. It was more that Ireland threw away the match from a winning position rather than the All Blacks staging a fantastic comeback. The result was definitely an injustice on them though.....there can't be too many teams in rugby who have outplayed their opponents for 70-75 minutes, had a huge lead and still lost the match.

I think also the crowd were starting to make noise after Sexton carried on through his usual routine.

A little thing like waiting a bit longer for quiet (or as good as it could be) wouldn't have helped either

There's a suggestion too that Sexton picked up an injury during the match which may have hampered him.

Seemed longer than a minute. I stand corrected!

He was a doubtful starter for the game itself.

The UK is the only chance the IRB have to make money out of a world cup. They lost money hosting it in New Zealand and they will lose money from Japan so they are going to have to milk this one for all it is worth.

Expect more money making to come.

As someone who lives in london the ticket prices for the 3 big stadiums in the area are a borderline disgrace. £50 for a top tier back row seat for Ireland v Georgia or Romania?!?!

I saw Sarries play Toulouse in decent seats for £16 last month as well before anyone tries to say you'll never get value for money in the capital.

I'm in New York this weekend, does anyone have any idea if the Wales Australia game will be televised live in the US, and if so, which channel?

Universal Sports Network (owned by NBC) are usually your best bet however they seem to be showing Barbarians/Fiji and the Dubai 7s all weekend.

There are a few rugby-friendly bars in NY:

http://theaustraliannyc.com/ is showing it;

and http://murphguide.com/sports/6nations-rugby-in-nyc/ this lot show Six Nations, so you may be lucky in that they show the Wallabies match too.

As I pay over £30 to see Premiership Rugby at Northampton...£50 seems okay to me.

And to see France in Milton Keynes...£50 seems acceptable.
France v Europe 2 (Georgia/Romanioa or Russia for £20) at Olympic Stadium...I am in.

Won't go for knockout games...they are imo expensive.

Agree 100%. The knock out stages are way beyond all but the very wealthy. They'll sell too

RFU are in a lose/lose situation

Charge cheap to reasonable prices and the tournament doesn't make the £80m promised

Charge expensive and they're pricing casual/new fans out of the game. Only the committed fan, who has deep pockets can afford prices for the top games

Australia lead by a point at half time against Wales. Not a single scrum in the whole of the first half

A great game so far and got to say it's been very well reffed by Wayne Barnes. We're lucky Oz butchered two earlier try scoring chances but the second was followed by one soon after in the passage of play.

Dan Biggar yellowed for some illegal defence and this is a massive half of rugby for Wales.

Wales being taken apart in all parts of the game. However by no means out if it.

Aus lead 16-27 10mons into the second half. They're picking apart our defensive line at will and Quade Cooper is on another attacking plane. We'll hear the same old excuses from the players at the end.Something goes wrong with the mentality of Welsh players when we face a SH team with physicality and pace.

So the Aussie player released that pass when he was behind the 5 metre line ....the player receiving the pass picked it up from his toes within the 5 metre line.

HOW is that not a forward pass?

Anyone???

Brainless stuff in our own 22 and it's an Oz pen for a 16-30 lead. I just don't get how Ireland and Scotland can beat Oz or South Africa on their day but we're just incapable of it.

It's the speed of the ball and what they do with it genia gets to the ball moves it it's then moved at least two passes where there are not so many numbers and they can get quick ball again.
In reverse Phillips goes around looking for cheep shots and giving slow ball to the forward who tak It straight back in.
