So the Aussie player released that pass when he was behind the 5 metre line ....the player receiving the pass picked it up from his toes within the 5 metre line.

HOW is that not a forward pass?

Anyone???
The commentators mentioned that the ref goes by the motion of his hands and it looked lateral. It won't be the deciding score in this game so doesn't matter

I think this.
So long as the ball is passed back, it doesn't matter if the momentum carries the ball forward, it is not deemed a forward pass.

It's the speed of the ball and what they do with it genia gets to the ball moves it it's then moved at least two passes where there are not so many numbers and they can get quick ball again.
In reverse Phillips goes around looking for cheep shots and giving slow ball to the forward who tak It straight back in.
In addition to that, the service from the back row has been poor.Faletau has done very well,Lydiate looks well below his best and Warburton has been very poor. To some, criticising SW in Wales is akin to farting in the Queen's face but he needs to know when his captaincy isn't up to scratch.

Well worked try finished by North and their may be a late flourish.

23-30, 62mins.

If we turn this into a win, it'll be the greatest victory Gatland has had as Wales coach.

A victory for Australia ..... if Wayne Barnes never refs a Welsh match again, it will be too soon.

Where is Steve Walsh when we need him.

We really can't blame the ref.Best game overall I've seen from an official this Autumn series.

That wasn't Wayne Barnes fault.

The SH countries just seem to have that bit more composure at the crucial moments particularly at seeing out the last couple of minutes of a game.

Jez Guscott and the guys in the studio mentioned that the ref had a bearing on the reult of the game.

If Wales had managed to get a try in the closing minutes, I don't think Australia would have been too happy about the sin-binning of Quade Cooper.

I have never understood the whole "passed sideways but momentum took it forward" argument. Momentum can't change the direction of a pass - if momentum took it forward, it's because it was passed forward!

That said, I'm not making excuses. Wales were flattered by the scoreline, really. Aussies looked dangerous every time they got the ball in hand.

Great game but why can't Wales ever seem to get the better of the best of the Southern Hemisphere? They are a better team than England, but England seem to be performing better again the big three.

almost every pass made goes forward as the speed the player is travelling.

this explains it far better than I can.

Couldn't watch the whole game but saw that. If it takes 5 or 6 replays to decide it was a marginal penalty, then how can it be yellow?
Is there a single, decent international pitch? If so, where is it?

Interesting viewing, but could have done with showing an actual forward pass!

Did you not see the Ireland NZ game?

Another great game for a neutral last night... for you guys the gap is closing at a pleasing rate but surely a win next autumn against one of them is vital in the build up to 2015?
