Change EPG colours

In the process of changing from Sky to Freesat. Purchased a Humax FOXSTAT-HDR which will be connected to the Sky dish..

We already have two Humax FOXSTAT Receivers (connected to a Freesat dish courtesy of a Freesat seller staff offer). So I knew we would miss the far better Sky EPG..

Is there a method of changing the colours of the Freesat EPG?

In short no. Not sure why you think the Sky epg is superior for a free to air box like a Freesat box. In my limited experience it's full of channels you can't actually watch (I kmow about the 50 channel favourites).

The freesat epg basics is dictated by Freesat not Humax.

Well I've had Sky for 17 years and Freesat since May 2008.
I reckon that's quite a bit of USER (but as yet none technical) experience. Of course I'm aware that the EPG is provided by Freesat.

Why Sky and Freesat? because at the time Freesat was offering 2 room installation and dish for a one off charge of £95 (through a reseller staff offer) far cheaper than having extra Sky points for the kids bedrooms...

My personal view is that the Sky EPG is better than Freesat's.but of course that will not stop me using it!
.
I just wondered if any anorak/techie knew of a hidden way of changing the colours.

If your reply is typical of what I might receive I'll not use the forum again.

Cheers.

Not sure what you are objecting too here, Freesat boxes have to conform to the freesat specification for the epg. If you object to this you need to contact Freesat. If you don't wan't the truth feel free to ask the same question anywhere you want to. You will get the same answer.

So any forum giving you an answer you don't wan't even though it's correct you won't use

If there is no other answer, what do expect ?

Should I have said something different apart from the truth

Pretty incredible, just because you get an answer you don't wan't you blame the forum

Basically do not blame the messenger

I will repeat the message so you might understand it

The Freesat epg colour scheme is determined by Freesat, it's transmitted in full from the Eutelsat 28A freesat home transponder and also from every channel on the Freesat epg.

You can change the transparency of the epg overlay but not the colours.

There are lots of way of adding addiitional capabality to Humax freesat boxes, changing the Freesat epg is not one of them.

You obviously didn't read my question correctly. i asked if there was a way of changing the colours for the Freesat EPG. (Obviously within the Humax as that's what I'm using)

I had no problem accepting your answer about changing the colours but not in the tone you put it.

As for the the Freesat EPG versus Sky EPG , look in the forums. Unfortunately you'll find a large majority of satellite subscribers believe the Sky EPG is better.

I'm certainly not a lover of Sky's poor services and outrageous pricing that's why we've gone completely over to Freesat for our satellite viewing..

Why in your second reply you have to use words like "not liking the truth" I don't know.

Now something too raise a smile...
..

“I know you you believe that you understand what you think I said, but I’m not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant”.

"How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?"
