me too .... the headbanger's had it's day on DOI for me .. too much is made of a pretty unattractive move
,

I actually didn't like Matthew's routine, even without the headbanger .. it was very clumsy and I didn't like the way he was throwing himself onto the ice and rolling around .. I prefer skating routines that are more about the actual skating as a couple

I agree with quite a few posters on here regarding the headbanger!! I also preferred Chico's routine tonight as it was a more complete performance (but still with impressive lifts). To be honest I sometimes get fed up of seeing lift after lift all the time and I do think too much emphasis is put on the headbanger when it's clearly a very dangerous move!! I certainly wouldn't attempt it, NO WAY!! And it's not because I don't have 'the guts', it's because I'm not a professional sakter and I don't want to kill anyone!!!! I'd rather have a simpler routine and perform it very well than have a dangerous routine and worrying about it all the time!! I also thought that Jorgie didn't land her lift as it was quite obvious that Matt grabbed her around the waist to prevent her from falling!! And Matt didn't half drop Nina with a thud on that ice at the end of their headbanger attempt!!!! (hope she's ok??).

You have to ask why the decision was taken for C&J not to do the headbanger, I doubt it's got much to do with ability, it seems a clear decision was taken to give them something more lyrical this week and it would not have fitted into the choreography. I had no problem with them leaving it out AND topping the board after the paired routines, in fact for me Chico would have edged it in the skills test as well last night (I like all three contestants BTW).

Agree. Chico did some very difficult lifts this week, particularly the one where he lifted his partner above him from behind his back. Most people would have toppled over backwards! And what makes Chico special is that he isn't just copying everyone else. He is trying new things and showing his amazing strength and yet also his tender approach to his partner at the same time.

Yes, and that's why I think Chico is far better than Matt even though the judges and schedulers always seem to favour Matt.

Chico has never once dropped or brought down his partner with a thud during the live performance. He would sooner fall himself. He takes tremendous care and soft touch with his partner (after a lot of practice).

So what are you saying - that Matt doesn't give a stuff about Nina and he would like her to get hurt? Of course Matt was quite happy to drop her at the end of his routine last night costing him a 10 from Katarina at least.
