Simon Holt, Thommo and bring back John Hamner (?)

Can't beat a bit of Derek Thompson either, he's a marmite sort of guy though.

Edit if not Hamner then the legend GG.

Jim McGrath (aussie) has actually commentated on c4 racing before, during the big freeze a couple of years ago c4's tracks were a whiteout and showed some racing from lingfield. I like McGrath actually, and Tommo is the face of racing to a lot of people who are no that into the sport and will be around a while yet. Its pretty fair to say that c4 loathe to show racing thats not from the amalgamated racing stable, but most of the stuff they have picked up isn't anyway. Will c4 be at chepstow for the welsh national now???

The only 2 comm race i remember being on C4 was the Cambridgeshire, with the late Raliegh Gilbert covering the first part of the race then handing over to GG. I think Holt does the whole thing now.

They may well bring in an Irish comm for part of it. They use Ted Walsh as a paddock comm during Cheltenham so I would expect something similar for the National

My Horse won at Brighton in 1987, Your "Aussie" called it the wrong name all the way round until it crossed the winning line, then he said "Making ground from the rear". Useless in my opinion. I still have the Video of the race to prove it.

John Hanmer was Aussie Jim's spotter on the BBC. Always sounds like he needs to blow his nose. Famously commentated on Frankie's 6th and 7th when he rode through the card at Ascot
