Samsung Galaxy - Sync Accounts Mucked up everything. Help!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S and yesterday, while I was out, nothing would work unless I said yes to Data synchonize google account for some reason (perhaps a button was switched accidentally in my pocket). Ever since I can't access Facebook and the Net on my phone - "Sorry! The application Facebook (processcom.facebook.katana) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". This comes up with everything and what's katana?!. Is it a virus or something? Will I likely have to restore the mobile to factory state?

If I go into:Accounts and sync > Manage accounts it shows this google account that started yesterday's date. I have turned it off so Sync is OFF but it's still the same. I also have a circle with two arrows in the circle on the top of the main screen.

How can I get rid of this and get my phone working properly again? Thanks

well Katana is merely the name of Facebook's latest app.

I'd start by uninstalling FB app. Then see if there's any problems with your phone - particularly around net access...
