Ive got the madness cd the heavy heavy hits, its a best of compilation. Some of their songs are great, i love waiting for the ghost train and most of them on the cd

Can anyone else recomend a good album by them with mostly good tracks?

thanks, will have to look out for it. I used to view them as sort of a cheeky novelty type band but after listening to some of the lyrics and songs i hadnt heard before theres more to them

I'd suggest, going to one of their gigs, getting to the front and flirting with Tommo, the sax player.
Mrs Diva did that and ended up on stage with the band for their last song miming playing a sax, she was presented with the sax and invited to the after show party.
The sax was signed by the whole band and sits in pride of place here in our home office

You have to listen to the first album 'One Step Beyond...', it's the most rootsie of their albums. It's part of the whole Ska revival thing in the late 70s. It is rated one of the best British albums ever.

To be honest, I think they are one of the rare bands that have never made a poor album so if you like all the hits you can't really gone wrong.
Liberty of Norton Folgate &Madness present the Rise & Fall are too very good albums but I love them all.
Basically, but all their albums if you can and enjoy!
