Why does Rebecca Ferguson keep releasing the wrong singles?
Just heard Glitter and Gold is a single,i'm not saying it's a bad choice but surely the best 3 songson that album are
Shoulder to shoulder Mr Bright Eyes Teach Me How To Be Loved Why release everything but those 3 songs...they're the stands out that make that album. The rest is good but not as good as those 3.In particular Shoulder to Shoulder is stellar...why not make it a single. She's selling good but with the above choices she could be selling millions like Adele and songs like that will help her achieve in the USA...i agree with Nothing is real But love... but not the other 2 choices.. Just crazy she could be doing huge number internationally but they're realeasing all the wrong singles. Her album was my album of the year last year, simply stellar. But those 3 songs for singles. How stupid! Just like i predicted her last single underperformed. With shoulder to shoulder a single i guarantee she'd be top 4 in albums right now...who is behind this1:sleep: |

Surely it's just your opinion that they are the best ones?

Mr Bright Eyes is stellar so quirky, pop and soulfully upbeat Shoulder to Shoulder has an amazing chorus and would be a Someone Like U II. Teach Me How To Be Loved so sincere and a relatable ballad everyone can relate with. Everything's good on the record but a shame she's wasted 2 singles releasing two songs that are very similar to each other....If she wanna sell tons more albums go with Shoulder to Shoulder. Glitter and gold is quite good i admit but Too good to lose is one of the weakest on the record alongside Run Free... it's just you too good to lose ooh,you too good to loose oooooh etc etc |

In this case those are the best songs on the album alongside the debut.

I repeat, wow. Shoulder to Shoulder RADIO WOULD GO CRAZY OVER THIS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av0Rnt_CtGM Too good to lose http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eseyzp6EyRc It's almost like they don't want her to be TOO successful because potentially she could be Adele massive worldwide but the songs that are gonna do that are the 3 i mentioned and her debut. Yes too good to lose is good, but it ain't gonna make her mega mega massive, Shoulder to shoulder will - it is so strong and will stand out. Too good to lose and glitter and gold are just moving along the motions... crazy single choices. In my opinion her album from best to worth songs. 10 Shoulder to Shoulder 9 Mr Bright Eyes 9 Teach Me How To Be Loved 9 Nothings Real But Love 8 Glitter and Gold 8 Run Free 7 Fighting Suspcions 7 Too Good To Lose 6 Diamond To A Stone 5 Fairytale |

Well her last single Too Good Too Lose didn't even make the top 100 on itunes, so I don't think it was a good choice.

Perhaps she's just not very popular.
That's because it's very so and so. To be fair album is top 20 though. She has sold 600k! or thereabouts apparently...but thanks to mostly her debut. It's good and they did good with that video. It just doesnt change the world or stand out if you will just the same reasons for Want U Back by Cher flopping. Mark my words if she had done Shoulder To Shoulder she would be in Top 10 in albums. Mr Bright Eyes with a very soulful big band video live thing would be amazing... How stupid! Record companies are insane...it's like they want to leave the good songs so that when people buy them they find something good there...Why not release Shoulder to Shoulder how crazy is that. |

Have you asked other fans what their favourite songs are?
Then there's another song that is good but there's nothing definitive there, its good and soulful but it doesnt take your breath away. Just listen to them.

I'd say her RC are more concerned with album sales and getting to 600k on the back of a just about top 10 debut single and not even top 100 second single is really good going

Shoulder to Shoulder & Teach Me How to be Loved should be singles without a doubt. Too Good To Lose just sounds like a throwaway end of album song, not a second single release IMO.

I think the album is excellent, but it suffers from not having obviously single-worthy material - apart from Glitter & Gold and possibly Fairytale, nothing sounds too commercial. But then again think she's more of an album artist than a singles one, and her sales are solid, so they've done thier job okay.

I've never understood record companies policies with releasing music.
Look at adele for instance, broke the mould with the type of music she released in the charts. The slow tempo, Piano, singer and the kind are rarely released when they are alot better than 99% of the garbage in the charts. I understand that the charts are filled with music people can go out and dance to etc although to have a couple of decent tracks in there wouldn't be such a bad thing |

I wasn't pushed on Nothings Real But Love or Too Good to Lose on singles, but I looooove Glitter & Gold! I don't think any of her singles are going to set the world alight unless they do some mad promotion, but they should keep the album selling which is what matters most I suppose.
This is how I'd rate Heaven, best to worst: - Fighting Suspicions - Run Free - Glitter & Gold - Shoulder to Shoulder - Teach Me How to Be Loved - Mr Bright Eyes - Fairytale - Too Good to Lose - Nothing's Real But Love - Diamond to Stone |

I have also been a bit confused with the single releases. I wasn't smitten with NRBL but felt hope when I bought the album and what I thought would be the next couple of singles.
IMO Mr Brighteyes should have been the second single with Teach Me how To Be Loved next, but not in its album form, something like this, http://youtu.be/tTjclicixbw Then she should have release Shoulder to Shoulder with a Too Good To Loose remix as a double AA side. When I first heard TGTL I thought it would take a great remix, like the one Whitney had for It's Not Right But It's OK and Unbreak My Heart for Toni Braxton. Maybe by The Freemasons or C&C Music Factory, there's something about the pumpy sirens??? just as she is singing 'hear my prayer now' that sounds like an old school club song. http://youtu.be/f7IcWRhzOKA |

1st nothing is real (is the most balanced between her image on the x factor and a good reprint action of the style and feel of the album). Mid-tempo, but also glitter and gold would have been a good option as is more radio friendly but it may not have been an even representation of the album. 2nd Teach me how to be loved. For me the best song in the album, but I like that sort of slow soulful ballads. 3rd glitter and gold. Radio friendly really upbeat song and catchy chorus. This is how I'd rate Heaven, best to worst: - Teach Me How to Be Loved - Glitter & Gold - Shoulder to Shoulder - Nothing's Real But Love - Mr Bright Eyes - Fairytale - Fighting Suspicions - Run Free - Too Good to Lose - Diamond to Stone |
