22 inch LED TV for bedroom
PeppermintHippo
20-03-2012
I'm looking to purchase a 22"-26" LED television for my bedroom. We have Sky HD so it'll need to be HD ready and of decent quality.

Any ideas?

This one at John Lewis looks to be priced almost £80 cheaper than similar sets. Is there a reason?

I've just recently got this for my bedroom

Its also at £169 reduced from £219 (although what price it'll be in store is anyone's guess )

The LG and Samsung models seem to have very similar specifications. I looked at various different models from both companies and preferred the LG, but it's really up to personal preference.

I bought a Kogan

Never heard of this brand before, found while searching for bargain TVs; apparently is an Australian brand and is quite known in Australia. The only thing about their TVs is that the sound is not top-notch quality, but that's the same issue with an Alba, Bush or Logik TV. Doesn't bother me though and I'm very pleased with the TV for the money paid.
They only sell online (so you have to take into consideration how good are the couriers in your area) and if you contact them, remember they are in Australia and have to take into consideration the time difference.

Edit: after looking at the link, if your budget is higher than mine (which wasn't much to be honest), you might be better off with the Samsung from John Lewis. The TVs I was on about have 3W speakers, while the Samsung has 6W.

Power isn't really the issue, it's the puny seakers and how they are mounted - and Samsung tend to have one of the poorest reputations for sound quality.

But to be fair, you're not going to find ANY 22 inch TV with decent sound quality.

I'd have to hear it to be convinced - I suspect if you think it's 'good' you're possibly less fussy than many

Agree.

And with youre previous replies.
if the OP is just going to use it for occasional viewing in a bedroom! then the OP should just look at price and warranty.

I would want a bigger screen, even for a bedroom.
my PC monitor is a 24''

Double check the screen ratios if you can. Some TVs in that size range can be 16:10 rather than 16:9. Some people might not notice or even care, but I think they are horrid.

I didn't think there had been any 16:10 sets for a good few years now?.
