I love dubstep, but only when the basslines and the production are top notch! Some of the stuff that is labelled as dubstep for the past 2 years is just house music with a slightly louder bass to me. I love the real dubstep, though. It's amazing!!

Skrillex to dubstep is what David Guetta is to House.

Check out artists like Skream, Benga, Joker, Emalkay, Flux Pavilion, Caspa and to an extent still Rusko.

Edit: He didn't die in a plane crash.

I agree. Dubstep is great when it's done properly.

I'm not a fan to be honest either.

It has it's moments, i'm more a fan of the harder stuff such as Datachi, Rusko, Drumcorps, Igorr, that kind of notation. However Breakcore has luckily remained relatively unchanged with Venetian Snares still leading the way and imho Breakcore will be the way of the future offering a more generic sound than just mixed tracks and the usual 'wub wub' break.

It's noise for druggies & the braindead... or 'dnb'

Nobody who hasn't taken a tab of ecstacy/inhaled Class B substances or is 100% sober would seriously appreciate real underground Dubstep.
It makes the breakbeat furiosity of jungle-music of the mid 1990s sound vaguely 'aurally edible' in comparison.

I can safely assure you being a musician I have never taken any drugs (unprescribed) or 'braindead' as mentioned above. Yes the whole dubstep scene has been pillaged by morons confusing it with nuRave, but like with anything they'll soon get bored and move onto the next fad. The true supporters of the scene will hang around and you'll quickly see the idiots being weened out from the fans.

Give it 2 or 3 more years and they'll get bored of waving their hands around and acting like morons to the same 'wub wub' break.
