Why not bring in dancing ??

In the final (perhaps) when the skaters have to do more than one routine, wouldn't it be a change if they had to actually dance a real dance (tango, waltz, cha cha or whatever) routine as they do in "proper" competitions (ie a set routine). No lifts or tricks, just some "proper" ice dancing.

Like Compulsory Dances or Original Set Pattern ? Good idea. Would like a night of comparative tangos.

a good idea but it might be more difficult for them to learn when it's a busy week to learn stuff already and seeing a the show likes to "wow" with it's daft tricks and dangerous moves they wouldn't be able to do that with a proper compulsary dance

would be ideal though if they all had to do the same style of dance

Would be good to have a "compulsory dance" week in the next series!

I would prefer them to concentrate on dance steps on the ice (as Nicky would require) than lifts and tricks. I would much rather see intricate steps than another lift.

they could always try bringing in ice skating...

I've suggested previously on a number of occasions that they include set pattern dances in the competition since these involve not only performance of appropriate movements but mandatory steps on the ice and associated use of blade edges. Failing that a set rhythm where the steps are not dictated but you would still be looking for the right combination of dance moves and skate work.

I wonder if they feel that would make it too close to SCD? Are there any set dances that don't feature on SCD that they could use?

There are LOADS of compulsory ice dances in the official list so they should be able to find enough that arent close to the ballroon "Ten dances" plus AT and Charleston

I would love to see them having to do one of them in the semi final - just to prove that they CAN ice dance properly
