He's blatantly resenting being a Mitchell now, so I'm wondering whether he's going to defect to the Branning side? I mean he's with Abi, and if we get decent scenes with Max then he may want to be around them more than Phil and Ben. Shirley's already lowered her guard with Derek, Roxy's left, so it could end up just Phil and Ben against the world

I think Jay is off screen until next Friday now, if the cast list on the BBC website is anything to go by; as are most of the Mitchells and Shirley actually, so it looks like this storyline is being rested for a few episodes. It looks like a pretty Titney/Derek/Branning heavy week from now on, I might not bother watching

Jay is my favourite male EastEnders character in recent years, and last nights scenes with Max (my previous favourite male)- I loved them!

Watched last night's EE on iplayer a couple of times solely for the Jay stuff! Loved the scene with Abi when he asked her why she was with him Loved the fake 'man chat' with Max And absolutely loved that standoff with Phil

I'm wondering how long this Mitchell revolt is going to last. He can't live in the Branning's front room forever.

Jamie is a fantastic actor - I really rate him so highly.

I've really grown to love Jay's character, I've always liked him, but this storyline has really helped him shine, and it's interesting to see him rejecting 'being a Mitchell' and all that means.

Love him with Abi - really like them together as a couple, hope they stay together, loads of potential interesting contrasts in their personalities too.

Amazing scenes on Friday - loved the chat with Abi - 'why are you with me?', and also the scenes with Max and the last scene with Phil in the lounge. Really good to see Max defend him despite not even knowing what was going on.

Brilliant stuff.

I love the way Jay can handle himself, but is caring and kind at the same time and Jamie plays him convincingly! I also liked those scenes when Jay supported Abi with her Biology revision.
