Out of the list Laura Marling is the most talented all round artist. No doubt Alexandra Burke will win this vote though, seems to be the way on this forum.

Out of all of those singers, I personally think it's Alexandra Burke easily. There's singers on that list such as Leona and Jessie J who can do great high notes, but their low voices are nowhere near as good. Alexandra can hit high notes, has amazing deep tones and I think she shows a lot of emotion. Also, a lot of singers can hit high notes, but there's no power in their voice. I love the power in her voice and she's unbelievably versatile. I think due to the music she's released, a lot of people overlook her. In my opinion though she's the best all rounder and best vocalist we have in the UK.

Vocally we ought to vote. I made it multi vote on purpose. I voted for more than one lady...

I dont think you can really count Amy Winehouse, talented she was, but she isnt currently in the mainstream music world, or anywhere else for that matter.

Best all rounder in my opinion means more than singing dance/pop songs and being able to dance in time. Can she play multiple instruments, write profound lyrics and compose complex music/lyrics? Kate Bush is the best all rounder this country has ever produced, Alexandra Burke isn't fit to shine her shoes.

Kate Bush would've got my vote had she been on the list, though I understand why she's missing as it's mainstream.

Leona Lewis for me, then Alexandra and Adele.

I included her as she was a recent vocalist and has every right to be there.

I had a far bigger list, but it would drone on (I had Dusty on my big list). I tried to make it as recent and mainstream as I could. Next month I'll do a big one, vocals overall for ladies in music.

Maybe to you, but she could learn in time. The girl is only 23.

Kate Bush wrote her first song that appeared on an album when she was 13. By 23 she'd released 3 albums already. That kind of writing talent can't be learnt. She can sing, no question. But in 30 years time will she still be releasing critically acclaimed albums like Kate? I really don't see it. She needs to cash in while she can.

I agree Kate Bush is like no other, a true one of a kind.

I guess when it comes to vocalists, everyone has their preferences. To me, someone's vocal range has nothing to do with it, or how big someone can belt. A true vocalist is someone who can tell a story through their lyrics and their vocal delivery. So for me, it has to be Amy Winehouse. I adore her version of Our Day Will Come, such beauty in her voice and a real sincerity when she sings this. I would name more but I'd probably end up typing forever aha.

She could. If she can contribute to songs (lyrically) like Elephant (which should've been acoustic IMO) she easily can. And you can learn how to write songs, isn't that what the Brit school is for? Practice makes perfect. MJ didn't write on records as a kid (Motown wouldn't allow it) but by 19, he was epic. And with Off The Wall, the self penned songs were phenomenal.

Well Kate Bush isn't on the list, and even if she was, I still don't think she's the best all rounder this country has ever produced. I can think of lots of UK vocalists that aren't on that list that are better than Kate Bush. She has an incredible voice, but in my opinion there are better. And at the end of the day, that's what it comes down to...opinion. Currently though, I think Alexandra Burke is the best UK vocalist.

An all rounder, in my opinion, doesn't just come down to vocals. It's everything else. She writes, she produces, she directs, she portrays emotion fantastically, Kate is a real one of a kind. The fact that someone can write a song like The Man With The Child In His Eyes at just 13 astonishes me.

Yeah, she did. I think it was either the industy she didn't like once she got famous (Lord knows what people expect...) or marital commitments.

You really want to compare this....

You wanna talk, you wanna talk about it,
Wanna talk, you wanna talk about it? (eh, eh, eh)
You wanna talk, you wanna talk about it?
There's an elephant in the room

to this....

Mourning in the aerodrome
The weather warmer, he is colder
Four men in uniform
To carry home my little soldier

(What could he do? Should have been a rock star)
But he didn't have the money for a guitar
(What could he do? Should have been a politician)
But he never had a proper education
(What could he do? Should have been a father)
But he never even made it to his twenties

What a waste
Army dreamers
Ooh, what a waste of
Army dreamers.

Even at an early age Kate had something to say. That can't be learnt.

It can. And you didn't pick the best bits of Elephant lyrically.
