why didn't you contact argos. charger is included as standard else you can buy one for quid off amazon or ebay. I would stop plugging in random charges else you are going to end up putting too much voltage through it and blow it.

are you trying to charge using the ipad cable connected to a computer? as most USB sockets don't give enough power to charge an ipad unless the ipad is turned off (not in sleep mode, but proper off). most USB is 5 volts and the ipad needs 10 volts. so if your computer doesn't give enough juice you need to use the supplied plug adapter thing that comes with it (which is different to the ones that come with iphones, it just looks the same)

Incidentally, for those with a MacBook it's worth noting that the USB port that is nearer the front has a higher current capacity than the other one. |

I think you're confusing volts with watts, I believe the iPhone charger is 5 watts and the iPad 10 watts (I haven't got one to hand as I type this but I think that's right).
Incidentally, for those with a MacBook it's worth noting that the USB port that is nearer the front has a higher current capacity than the other one. the old iphone charger is 5 watts and the ipad one is 10 watts. my ipad won't charge on the pc i wanted it to charge on, i've not tried on my other desktop in the other room, which has some special USB thing that let's you charge stuff even when the pc is shutdown |

Crazy though, not having instructions included. How is anyone to know the wierd thing in the box turns into a plug?

I thought it was fairly obvious what the charger was and how to connect it.
You have a cable with a dock connector on one end and a USB plug on the other, a charger brick, and a plug adaptor. The plug adaptor is obviously a plug adaptor, and the charger brick is obviously a charger brick, plus has a USB port on it. The plug adaptor and charger brick obviously fit together, as the plug adaptor has a figure of 8 power connector on it and the charger brick has a figure of 8 power socket, together with them having the groove thing so one slides into the other. The product information booklet that comes in the box does mention that the charger needs to be assembled, and it does also point you to the online manual if you actually need a manual for the device. |

aye, i type watts first and then thought it was wrong and changed it to volts. i think it's only newer macbooks that have the higher power capacity in the usb though
