Just want to know your opinions on this as I've read countless articles saying that Rihanna is taking over as the Queen of R&B. I that as she seems to release albums so soon after one another she is obviously getting more exposure. Whereas Bey is taking time off with the baby and thinking more about the type of music she releases. I want to make it clear that I am a fan of both artists.

One album which results in low sales and people are fearing Beyonce, ridiculous. Not directed at you OP but people in general.

Rihanna has proved herself much more versatile than Beyonce in terms of music. But Beyonce's voice, dancing and her tours beat Rihanna anyday.

Ooh finally somebody with a bit of sense! I mean Its about exposure and Rihanna is the Kim Kardashian of music- where you can't go anywhere without hearing about her. And as for everyone saying that Bey is finished as '4' recorded low album sales its rediculous.

The reason that Beyonce's latest album didn't achieve high sales is because it wasn't commercial enough. However, she did what she wanted to do for this album. She didn't set out to make a big commercial album. She said before she released it that it wouldn't be about singles...the era would be about the album as a whole. She's never concentrated on promoting one particular single from the album. The album was critically acclaimed as well which I think was the next logical step for her in her career. I doubt Rihanna will ever make a critically acclaimed album.

Wasn't 'Good Girl Gone Bad' received well by the critics? Could be wrong.

Bey made an album she wanted to do. 4 is special to her
Plus she did a mini tour for it and it sold out within seconds. 30 seconds i think?

Rihanna just makes album for the fun of it and you know what, Kudos to her because I would if i was given the chance.

Good Girl Gone Bad was a great album, but it was just an amazing pop album. It didn't have deep and meaningful songs like 4.

Rihanna is going to decline in the near feature, Talk That Talk isn't doing amazing, album wise and single wise.

Beyoncé on the other hand is stable i think

It was in my opinion to soon after LOUD which was good enough to satisfy harcore fans at least for two years. But TTT was intended originally supposed to be repackaged version of LOUD but chose to release new music- thats why the album seems short. And she's already recording for a new album in the winter!

She isn't recording a new album. She put that to rest on Jon Ross. No new music on the horizons.

I may be wrong about the release for the album and I am willing to admit I'm wrong but this seems to me that she is working towards a new album soon.

Yes and it was after that report she then said on Jon Ross it wasn't true

But just because someone goes to a studio, it doesn't mean a new album. She could be re-recording songs for a single release or even working with other artists.

Ok I admit Im wrong just watched her interview on the planner. Also isn't Bey supposed to release material this year as her comeback after the birth of Blue Ivy

Not sure. She has confirmed she is working with Ryan tedder and is working on two albums. One i reckon is the soundtrack to A Star is born which is the lead role in a film she is doing.

Bey will likely have an album out by end of the year. She is already doing a few more concert dates in the US which she announced the other day. Despite having a baby, Beyonce is good to go and working hard yet again.

Thanks, hmm I wonder what direction she will take musically? I know people have said it in the past but another collaboration with Mr Bey would be nice

I wouldn't say either star is on the way out, most definitely not.

Beyoncé isn't as versatile as Rihanna is but she's easily more talented as a performer, vocalist...every way tbh!

Rihanna also has a great voice, she just really rushed TTT, it was too soon and so now her singles aren't doing as well as they could do.

4 wasn't mainstream/commercial enough to get Beyoncé big chart success singles-wise and her campaign was badly managed. But 4 was something Beyoncé wanted to do anyway, and instead of being rewarded with high chart positions, B was rewarded with critical reclaim and I think in hindsight people will respect her more for that. I would assume if Beyoncé does release an album at the end of the year it will be more than likely more commercial and she'll regain her chart success.

Beyonce keeps everything private which I like. I reckon one of the two new albums that she's working on is the soundtrack for 'A Star Is Born'. The other album could be anything. I don't think it's a new Beyonce album though, as she starts filming soon for 'A Star Is Born' which will take up a lot of her time, then she's apparently touring for the '4' album at the end of this year. Then she'll have promotion to do for 'A Star Is Born'.

I thought the promotions she did were good considering how advanced in her pregnancy she was so she was limited. Plus she did several music videos so music fans were treated to so many different elements of 4.

Well I must say and I will admit I've mention several ri ri and bey comparisons but didn't I mention something similar to this I think I did!! Anyway, i think bey will probably go back to where she was once at!! On top!! Ri ri should take it easy she's doing too much at once!!

Yeah, one of her two musical projects is definitely A Star Is Born.

However I noticed that whenever Beyoncé has a big film out she usually double promotes it with an album too, and given how she recorded B-Day in 2 weeks she could easily record another album. This is Beyoncé with the super-woman work ethic and all that. She's unstoppable! I think I remember The Dream saying that when she was pregnant with Blue Ivy, she was still in the studio working! That girl doesn't stop. But I also like how private Beyoncé is and she isn't in the headlines all the time. Yeah, I definitely wouldn't rule out a new album from B!

Rihanna said more recently in her talk with Ryan Seacrest that all she's done for her new album is determine her sound and her priority just now is to get her fashion tv show/line into motion and look into more films.

Her promotions were okay towards the later stages of the 4 campaign, to film all those videos and give them to the fans was awesome of her, but I just felt her management didn't get the promo right especially at the start of her campaign. Usually when Beyoncé has a lead single/album upcoming she does the rounds on all the big US talkshows, she didn't really do that earlier on. I know she had rehearsals for Glastonbury and the other festivals in Europe but I felt she could still get more promotion in too. Plus the single choices weren't clear enough, I remember at one stage a lot of fans were convinced they were getting End of Time for single #2.

Beyonce got a no1 album so i think she did decently well tbh and a top10 hit, I think it was less commercial as well. Altho Run The World was not good at all.
Rihanna needs to release Birthday Cake

I think this is the right thread to ask my question...

Do you guys think Rihanna will re-release 'TTT' during the summer/ winter? I've read some rumours, which she kind of dismissed, but I have to be sure. I might buy her album, so I wouldn't like a brand new ( and better ) edition of it to be released just months after I buy the original
