In terms of Madonna being the ultimate, the one with the reputation alone to sell albums, and Britney coming along, stealing the attention for a time, essentially overtaking Madonna for a couple of years but now back to Britney second to Madonna.

Beyonce is the ultimate, Rihanna has come along and for the past 18 months has pretty much been ahead of Bey, but I think in 5-10 years it will be back to Beyonce in control with Rihanna still doing well, but firmly planted as second to Beyoncé's first.

It wasn't meant to be a direct Rihanna to Britney, Beyonce to Madonna comparison. In all honesty I think in both instances Rihanna and Beyonce lose in those comparisons.

Got to say i disagree, that would have got boring quick so she evolved her image and it seems to have worked very well and she just had one of the biggest hits in years. The gimmick makes her more interesting to the public. She couldn't of gotten much further than she has now anyway even if it would have..

Thats a lot of "intelluctually challenged fans" then. Her song with Brown will go top5 at least if its released which shows a lot of people like it (with little public backlash). The era has just been handled badly and maybe overexposure and not taking a break.

good question. i dont think ri ri has any intention of slowing down yet. beyonce i can see her releasing albums until she gets old. didnt i hear she wants to retire soon??? well if she wants to retire sooner then i can see her releasing a few more albums.
