A new series returns to BBC One tonight! Wednesday's seem so empty without it.

The first challenge for the two teams is to set up a printing business, developing simple logos, branding products and then selling them on to the public for profit.
Following on from last series, we'll be adding a poll to each episode discussion thread asking if you feel the right person went. Enjoy the show!

Hooray! It's back. Wonderful.

Lord Alan Sugar appears on his usual form as he throws another group of 16 hopefuls into the deep end on the new series of the Apprentice, which kicks off tonight at 9pm on BBC1.

'This is not about a job anymore and I’m not looking for a friend, if I wanted a friend I’d get a dog. I’m looking for a partner, the Marks to my Spencer, the Lennon to my McCartney,' he tells the trepidatious group.

'This is about me investing £250,000 into a business with one of you and I’m expecting you, as the so called entrepreneurs, to make the money for me.'

'Some of you may come here with preconceived plans of how this is going to play out. Let me give you a warning, don’t try and hide.'

They are all pictured in this week's radio Times, they are all so accomplished and successful that you wonder why they are bothering with a contest that pays out a piddling £250 000.

I only just noticed this starts tonight. They normally do wall to wall advertising on it. So unless I have missed every trailer, they have kept this very low key.

Also, why is this not out on the main page instead of hidden away in here? It starts in a few hours! No wonder no one knows about it.

Not long before we get to meet all those nice well adjusted, shy, humble candidates.

I have got the right show haven't I?

For some of them, they're coming on for meeja exposure a la Rafe. For others its more about the opportunity to work with Lordsiralun and his cronies and build up a rolodex of influential contacts. I'd be surprised if anyone was in for setting up a business and running it long term. If any of them had a good idea, they'd be on dragons' den.

Objection to the word "numpties" - That's far too nice sounding.

These people are annoying ****ing morons!

And that's just what their mothers think of them!

Or too busy and successful to take the time off?

I've not seen any of the trailers ... but I think I know what to expect.

Hope there is no-one too annoying, I'll end up switching off again...

Oddly in the Apprentice the annoying ones draw me in - it's like bedlam for the modern generation Is this the thread for first ep or just general chat?

Hiya Andy, see you're back, Thread pinned to the wall again.

Evening all, and hope show is worth watching, as you never can tell how the candidates will shape up. From the photos I saw of them, they don't impress me one little bit, and wonder where LS got them from...
