Why has no-one (I wonder) even chosen the team name "Spirit".

would have been a good one for Katie's team. She could have worn a sheet with holes cut out for the entire series and then popped up from her hiding place to exclaim she knew something about business. What on earth is she doing on this show.

Oh my goodness. These women are awful. I don't think any of them came across particularly well. Possibly just Jade since her design was quite nice? Not that the men were amazing either. She didn't say anything but I got Sharon (series 2) vibes from Laura which isn't a good thing.

Gabriella should have gone. Apart from being a really dodgy PM and making bad decisions, she fell to pieces in the boardroom even moreso than Bilyana. I didn't really understand what Bilyana did wrong to be honest. She talked a bit much in the boardroom but it wasn't a Paloma style meltdown in my opinion. I am sort of pleased that Katie stayed though, in a way. Though she still seems fairly weak, its possible she could do a Zoe style turnaround.

I wonder if we are heading for a series 4 style car crash series?

I thought Phoenix had been used before too. But its not been used on the US series either. It must have been one of the suggestions at one point that got discarded.

I'm not sure that it was the right decision to fire Bilyana, but it was an understandable one as she was becoming massively annoying in her refusal to shut up. I liked her on YF though, and I suspect she's far nicer than she came across on the main show.

To be honest, I thought both designs were pretty horrific, though at least the girls managed to print them competently.

All of us North Londoners know exactly why Bilyana was fired. If she actually knew London as well as she'd claimed, then she should have known to simply turn right on leaving the zoo. Had they done that, they'd have been on Parkway in less than 2 minutes, and at Camden Tube within 5 or 6 minutes. The foot traffic in that area is excellent, and there are loads of wannabe yummy mummys around who'd have been happy to be seen conspicuously consuming bibs, puzzles. t-shirts etc. for little Tarquin, NyQuil, Xerxes, and Clytemnestra.

I guess since the women were all so gobby, loud and overbearing. It's not a bad thing that one of the most loud and overbearing ones got fired... They can afford a couple of quieter ones.

I thought Jade came across really well in this first episode.

Bilyana and the sub team who went to the zoo were complete idiots though The way they all shouted across each other at the same time to try and sell to that woman was terrible and really unprofessional. And why on earth did they all stick together at the zoo and decide to take it in turns to make a sale? The whole taking turns thing was ridiculous. Why didn't they all split up and make their own individual sales? They would have sold a hell of a lot more. They missed out on loads of potential customers by all of them just targetting one person with their child one at a time. And why did they just target people who had children with them at the time? You saw so many other people that the sub team could have approached if one of the others was busy making another sale. And why just women who had children with them? There could have been many adults there who had children or grandchildren and would have still bought the product, even though those children and grandchildren weren't there at the zoo with them.

This is why the girls team lost, I think.

Exactly, how intimidating were they, first in the zoo all targeting the same people at the same time and then afterwards towards the woman in the shop? She explained very clearly she only bought after a period of time thinking, but still the persisted like a pack of hounds, so unprofessional. They really showed themselves up.

That Bilyana reminded me of the Bond girl in 'For Your Eyes Only', Carole Bouquet, especially those eyes. Compare these two links of them both:

She didn't talk "a bit much" she wouldn't shut up, even though LS told her to! That's what got her fired, she annoyed him because she didn't know when to keep her mouth shut.

Had Bilyana known how to shut up in the boardroom, she might get herself a second chance. Poor girl.

I felt sorry for Bilyana - she was slammed for having the nous to approach the customers in the first place....yes they complained about her not allowing them to take turns, but it looked to me like the others were all too shy to approach potentail targets so Bilyana just swooped in.

I fail to see why they decided to cling together and "take turns" rather than spreading out and finding more customers.... it would have been a lot less threatening for the customers not to have to face a horder of squawking females all trying to sell... and the zoo is big enough to allow four different sales points (or even two if they had to stay in pairs). That's where the boys scored highly - they split up at the station and widened the target audience.

Mind you - whose idea was it to go to the zoo in the middle of winter... they'd have been better having a second stall in Camden Market - or gone to one of the other stations/ Trafalgar Square...

Its just a shame she didn't shut up when told to - and the invisible katie would have gone... it really was a case of talking herself out of a job!

Think that her approach was adopted later by her fellow candidates in the shop, due to the fact that she was stealing away their potential sales.

It was basically a repeat of Paloma two series ago, wasn't it the battle of camden town or something?

Think that either Bilyana or Gabrielle would have been a justified firing (even though Lord Sugar seemed to think otherwise at first and most people on the forums also think this) as both made grave errors. Yes, Katie did very little but that didn't cost them the win (also, very obvious with the editing in the final boardroom, even showing Katie praying and showing her upclose straight after Bilyana was fired).

Wow talk about not knowing when to shut up! Bilyana could have gone quite far I reckon hd she not talked herself into being fired! It was obvious he was about to fire Katie, which part of her brain thought otherwise???

That's what I thought. Couldn't understand it at all - four of them walking along together like a posse. They should have been in different parts of the zoo. However, even if they'd have made the same sales as the girls at Greenwich Market, they still wouldn't have beaten the boys profit margin, so the person who should have been fired was the project manager for not getting on top of the numbers.

But LS is looking for a partner - and he fired exactly the right person. She took no notice when he tried to quieten her and as he said himself he would never be able to work with her.

The fact that she went will mean that Gabrielle and Katie will sharpen up their acts.

Bur as he admitted himself, he didn't know any of them well enough to make an informed decision so went with his gut feeling that he couldn't work with Bilyana. In the past he's let far more annoying candidates stay well past their sell by date (Stuart Baggs the brand anyone?)
