I remember that in 2010, Ke$ha was huge with Tik Tok and everyone was going crazy about her, to be honest, disapointment of an album,and calling her Britney No.2. She had sleeper hits until early 2011, I think - when she dropped off the face of earth. I believe she's working on album 2.0 but I expect it to flop hard (core, like she would say).

She didn't really abandon it. She released 3 singles and did a six month tour which was actually a sell out.

She as she has said in interviews trying to change pop- like her and all and loved Animal/Cannibal but she doesn't have the following to allow that. As for your question she is indeed recording a new album- i wonder if it will be as autotuned as the last two.

Yeah, Ke$ha and her manager have confirmed a May release for her lead single and her album should follow pretty closely. I'm interested to see what she'll do, obviously I don't expect her to do something revolutionary that will change pop culture, I hate it when artists make statements like that cause it pretty much sets them up for a fall! But I am interested to see what her sound will be now. She keeps saying "C**k Pop", so who knows what that means!

Respect to her for actually taking time away from the limelight to work on her second album and not just throwing out another one in 3 month. She needs to come back with something a little bit different though if she wants to carry on her success as I do feel music has slightly changed in the last year...

she is currently working on her album, aiming for a 2012 release. I'm glad she is taking her time and hopefully the time out will show in her music and reflect some artistic growth. I'm a big fan of Ke$ha and am really looking forward to what she is going to bring to the table this time around.

She was still promoting her album back in May/ June on TV performing 'Blow' and her collaboration with Britney and Nicki Minaj was a devent summer hit in the US. She's just kept it low key for 7/8 months, it's not THAT long Besides, she also released 'Sleazy 2.0' with a video (which was amazing btw ).

She wasn't really that big in the UK with her debut album; most of the singles failed to make the top 10. "Blow" also bombed big time which was disappointing after scoring her first #1 with "We R Who We R". She's more of an afterthought than a rival to the likes of Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.

I don't get why people have this weird attitude. If they disappear from the limelight and work on their next project they get the "15 minutes of fame are up!" bullshit, and if they stick around they get the "OMG you're so overexposed, go away!" bullshit.

Her "songwriting skills" = talent. She isn't talentless. I'm not her biggest fan, but she clearly has an ear for a catchy pop hook. She may not have an "obvious" talent like a good singing voice (which, let's face it, can be easily bluffed these days), but I'd wager being able to write hit pop songs requires far more talent...and will earn her more in the long run.

Well didnt expect that from you after all the pop threads you start she is just as talented as Katy Perry and Rihanna? Every song she's ever released has gone top10 in the US and hasnt ever flopped but as another poster said she has taken time to write a new album and had a break which is good i think instead of rushing material out or overexposure. Tik Tok was grea andt it beat Bad Romance for 9 weeks in the US charts which is some achievement (no shade thats a good song) and will be remembered for years to come.

Ke$ha is better as a songwriter. She isn't a great singer and just talks. At least Rihanna and Katy try (but sometimes fail) to sing. Ke$ha sounds dreadful live...she only works well in the studio. Plus her version of Till The World Ends was rubbish compared to Britney's.

She does write good songs and is a talented enough musician but GaGa, RiRi and KP are all better than her.
