Sugar had decided to choose Tom Pellereau early on. I'm sure he was selected for the show because his occupation was 'inventor'. In terms of his ability on the show, he was poor. On the losing side so many times, back in the boardroom so many times, not good as project manager, lacking business oomph. None of this mattered to Sugar. He chose one of the worst candidates that's ever appeared based on his overall performance on the show:
