Samsung Galaxy S3 - any news?

Anyone know the latest regarding the SGS3 which is meant to be out soon. It didn't get announced at MWC '12, does anyone know what's happening or what the latest is?

Specs have not officially been confirmed. It's possible sure, but not definete. As for what it looks like, i wouldn't trust the picture either.

I'm half thinking that they might have problems cranking up enough production of OLED screens.

They also produce the one for the Sony Vita.

It's a page for the SGS3 but there's no mention of any specs, no release date or price. Just a page for the phone and a picture of what could be the SGS3. No idea if that is officially what the phone looks like. Anyone else seen this on any other retail websites?

I prefer the design on that page, than others shown here. I thought the point of ICS was that you could do away with physical buttons. So not sure why the S3 would come with a physical button.

I think that picture was shown to be a fake. A guy on All ABout ANdroid said it was just a photo shopped wifi Galaxy Player.

Not sure I would want a SGS3 with Touch Wiz. There would have to be a decent AOSP Android 4.0 ROM for me to install before I would commit.

Hence the question mark.

I still think maybe April to tie in with the 100 days to go for the Olympics as they are a major sponsor. That would be the 18th as a launch date and maybe an announcement the week before............
I hope they hurry up, just because I'm fed up with all the whining around ICS for the S2!!

a Samsung exec has announced that the s3 announcement will be made in April. this will more than likely be specs, pictures and release date.

I have to say i think Samsung are making a mess of the SGS3. No doubt it will be a huge success, but so far absolutely nothing has been revealed about an announcement, launch, specs or pictures.

A lot of people are waiting for this phone. But come April 5th, HTC's new quad-core One X will be unleashed to the British public. Those that don't want to wait might just be happy switching and giving their money to HTC because their phone will be the flagship quad-core of this year.

I'm waiting for the SGS and even i'm fed up!

I don't know about that. The cost of these is so much that its hard to leave profit leeway.

I'm guessing that with the Sony Vita the Samsung screen is at a discount. I'd very much bet that as part of the contract Sony will have to switch to cheap IPS screens if/when asked.
Its a win for Samsung in that the Vita does not compete as a phone.

LG, at least in Europe certainly needs customers for its top end screens. No one at all has snapped them up yet.
Apple cleverly sets a ballpark spec that multi-suppliers can now deliver. So they don't want them.
