Tapioca pudding, or "frog spawn" as we called it.

Didn't really taste of much, but the texture and appearance were quite off-putting...

Does anyone remember a brand of crisps called Looney Tunes?

They were out in the early/mid 90s and were similar to pringles, but were slightly smaller and had the faces of Looney Tunes characters on them. The prawn cocktail ones were awesome but then they stopped selling them.

I remember them! They were like Discos. The characters were brown.

I also remember some little biscuit things that came in small packs. They were flat on one side and rounded on top. They had faces on and a hollow middle with chocolate stuff in. I can't remember what they were called.

It came loose in jars and they weighed it out for you, it was really sour. It's probably illegal now, it couldn't have been good for a person.”

Do you mean Kali? It made your tongue sore after a bit. It was full of salt and sugar.

I don't think so, it was sherbert but wasn't fine like the sherbert dip sherbert, it was granular like caster sugar. It was also coloured orangey red and was lovely and sour, it would make your eyes water.

I can't remember it even having a name. It did make your tongue sore though.

Aye, it came in lovely colours. I used to mix some in lemonade sometimes.

Floral Gums - although you can still get them which I occasionally do. Very 70s and most people thought they tasted of washing up liquid.

I was in B&M today and it was like a blast from the past - they had Pot Noodle, Vesta Currys, Space Raider crisps.

Does anyone remember the name of the crisps that came out in the mid 70s that was a forerunner of Wotsits? They were in an orange bag and was only about 3p when Walkers crisps were about 7p. I keep thinking they were called Puffs or something

Dalesteaks when my mum couldn't afford sirloin! I actually loved blancmange, tapioca, and rice pudding. However, I bought some Ambrosia tapioca the other month as I'd not had it since I was a child and it was bloody awful.

Birds trifle you made yourself. We always had this on a Sunday or Angel Delight.

They're not that bad actually. Traditionally in times past, faggots were usually pork offal (lungs, hearts etc.) minced up, shaped into balls, herbs and spices added, sometimes breadcrumbs were also added, and they were then wrapped in some of the stomach membrane. Once cooked they were served in a sauce or gravy. Not that different to haggis in many ways, just with different animal offcuts and smaller. Like Haggis the recipes have changed over time, especially with many of the types of offal previously used being banned for human consumption after the BSE/Scrapie scares of the 1990s.

Mr Brains Faggots are different. They are made of minced liver and onions, with herbs and spices, rolled into balls and served in a sauce.

Personally I don't like them.

Sherbert is easy to make. Most kitchen cupboards have the ingredients.

The only extra thing is powdered citric acid.
