Tinned fruit salad is something else I haven't had since childhood

It'd be quite good now...........I wouldn't have to fight anyone for the cherry..........

School puddings are the main ones. Things like cornflake tart which was made with golden syrup and glued your teeth together (if it hadn't already broken them by being rock solid). Actually... I now really fancy some! Semolina with strawberry jam and plain sponge with custard are a couple of others.

I always remember there was some kind of blackcurrant jam tart the cooks made once which was absolutely awful. It had the consistency and look of tarmac but was slightly harder to eat. We were all too polite to tell them how bad it was so when they got lots of people asking when we were going to be having it again they thought it was because we all loved it. Once a week for about a month I think... I suspect one of the teachers finally came clean and told them.

The toffee drops that were coated in chocolate that you bought by weight is another. I can't remember their name, but it may have been something like toffee nuts? I suppose most of the by weight stuff counts there too: Kola Kubes, pineapple cubes, lemon and strawberry bonbons. I should grab some for old times sake when I'm in the supermarket! I'm not sure it'd be the same now I can just chuck them into the basket without carefully counting out coppers to work out if I have enough cash for them though.

Finally, Arrowroot biscuits. Always with a cup of tea when visiting my Grandmother.

Not forgetting the little bottles of milk, we sometimes got extras during afternoon break.

We were sat around remeniscing the other day about stuff we used to have at my nans and I came up with the ice cream in a sleeve, thought nothing more about it until mum called round to my new flat this week with a few freezer items as a welcome and sat on the top was a sleeve of Lyons ice cream.... I bawled like a baby lol
Candy cigarettes, can't stand them now but loved them as a kid.
Push pops. Nothing but sugar and feel mean not letting my daughter have them when I have scoffed a fair few over the years.
Bubbaloo. Bubble gum with liquid centre, tasted a bit like fairy liquid!
Pink custard or chocolate custard! School dinner classics!
Aarghawasp!

I am in need of some comfort tonight. Just had a big slice of Jamaica Ginger Cake with custard. Took my right back to childhood.

Just remembered something else - flump marshmallows... We used to microwave them so they turned massive and went all squishy! Did anyone else do that

Then again, perhaps it's simply that my hands are bigger.

Sandwich spread - no longer eat because its rank!
Butterscotch Tart (school dinners) with a swirl of cream on top and a buttery biscuit base - not eaten since because I don't know how to make it!
Some kind of suet pastry bacon roll with onions that my Gran used to make - was delicious but have no idea how to make it or what it was!!!

Clubs have shrank in size so have wagon wheels. Also, mass let down - chocolate eclairs are now tiny!!!!!! They are not even worth buying any more!!!!!
