Not me. It's a phone. It does what a lot of smartphones do. Sure, quad core But really, who cares! You'll get it, set it up and then find that it's actually no different and there's nothing new to play with.

I prefer phones without micro-sims and locked-in batteries.

Wanna bet? This phone will set the bar and set it high for all the quad core phones in the future.

Well untill the galaxy s3 is released and then that phone will be the best and it will be the best ever.......
Until the iPhone 5 is released and then the iPhone 5 will be the dogs bits and pieces.

I guess what I saying is I kind of agree with you.

Exactly. The spec will keep getting better and better and every phone released will be better than the last but seriously, how much spec does one need in a phone / PDA? Where does it end? Sure, some want to use it for gaming etc but the majority will use the basic features plus some for media functions and social networking.

The reason I want the htc or any quad core phone is simply for the speed of the things. I have the iPhone 3G and the wife the s2 now compared to the iPhone the s2 is like lightning so I can't wait to see the speed and quality of the quad core phones,

You're comparing apples with pears there though.

The iPhone 3g is three generations of phone old. The SGS2 is not quite superseded but obviously will be soon.

I very much doubt the quad core generation of phones will be hugely better than the current generation. Better yes, I'm sure they will be but for what most people use them for the current generation is more than adequate.

But doesn't a pc from 10 years ago do the same thing as they do today?

Same as an Aston Martin, it might go faster than a vauxhaul cavalier but effectively they are the same thing yet every one wants a newer version.

I get your argument but feel it's a little misjudged, all phones are capable of doing the same things it's just quad core phones will be able to multi task faster and easier .

One more thing. My contract was due up recently but I couldn't think of any phone that could possibly replace my sgs2 so was going to go on sim only for a few months.

I wouldn't have gone for a new generation phone immediately (like I did with the sgs2) simply because you end up paying way over the odds for it.

In the end I was offered 1200 minutes, 3000 SMS and 750mb data for £25/month with a free galaxy nexus. Ok, so it's a 2 year contract but at £25/month it's cheaper than any sim only deal I could find on the same network.

As far as the phone is concerned, ive not used it. It's in a drawer. I suppose some features are probably better than the s2 but others aren't and I'm perfectly happy with my current phone.

When the next generation of phones is released I'm sure therell be some fantastic offers on current phones. A difference of£20/month in line rental is a whopping £480 saving over 2 years! There's no way I'd have turned that down for a new phone instead.

But that is exactly the point of my argument. Yes, they're all capable of the same or similar things but more advanced phones will do things much more efficiently than less advanced phones.

The s2 is soooooo much more advanced than the 3G so of course it will be hugely faster. The x1 isn't going to be THAT much more advanced than the sensation or s2 so the speed difference won't be anywhere near as noticeable.

Its a very nice phone no doubts about it. Been using a One ROM for a bit on a Desire S. Sense 4.0 lite and I do like it.

for anyone intrested that are on 3 network. you can pre order this over the phone.
I phoned this morning as im due for upgrade. they told me i can have it by the 5th of april
i was offered the phone free at £35 month 500 mins 5000 texts and unlimited data.

The reason i didnt take the deal is im only paying £11 month for my Desire, but im in need of a new phone as the desire is getting on my t*ts now. with poor battery and very low space.
So im thinking of biting the bullet and tripling my price plan.
Or do i wait for the Galaxy 3.
Arrrgggghhh decisions decisions

Personally I wouldnt use 3. What I have done in the past, is bought the phone off line. Then get a cheap sim-only deal. Depending on how long you keep the phone, it could work out cheaper than a contract.

Pay a bit up front for the phone and cut the deal down to 12 or 18 months. You're paying less in the long run.

Yeah if i could i would buy the phone out right and just keep my contract.
But ill probably try and get it down to 30 a month and pay for the handset, by selling my Desire.
Im gonna wait till next month anyway to see the specs of the SGIII, before i upgrade.

I think quite a few people are waiting for the S3 announcement before they decide on what to get. Me included.

Just got off the phone with T-mobile contract renewals department. Their release date is the week starting 9th April and they don't have any details on the prices yet. Lagging behind a bit... I don't know whether to upgrade the phone and keep my existing contract (5GB download limit, unlimited texts and 500 mins for £11/month, which doesn't exist anymore) or to just buy the phone elsewhere. I'll see in a weeks time. I doubt I can get a contract as favourable as the one I have, but I really hate T-mobile with a passion.
