Well, she did gave one of the best defences in the boardroom that I have seen (which saved her over both Katie and Bilyana).

She will work better as a teamplayer, so she should be save for the time being.

I like Gabrielle myself and do think she'll last a while longer, well hope so anyway but I thought she was saved by Bilyana hanging herself to save Katie. Katie was an obvious goner as they highlighted several times that she was 'hiding' and that was after Lord Sugar specifically said he didn't want any shrinking violets. Then Bilyana took it to a different level and got herself fired.

She did nothing but assert herself, Sugar can't take it

I think Shuggs made it clear that Gabrielle was in no danger last night - it was always going to be between the other two.
It was Biryana that got herself fired - Shuggs just thought to himself "Can I put up with this every time I have a meeting with this woman? No!"

She kept talking over him long after he'd told her that he didn't want any more input from anybody. If she can't even control herself enough to stop talking, then how could she ever be a good employee?

Exactly. It didn't take much for her to ignite in the boardroom. I wouldn't hire a loose cannon like that. She'd be a liability.

The same way Sugar has bulldozed everyone else all his career

He should admire it.

Why would he want someone to bulldoze over him?

I like her (so far). I think if I were to go in to business with someone, she'd have the the type of 'way about her' that would be good for a working atmosphere. She looked to be a supportive PM and didn't talk down to anyone to.

I think maybe because she's a gentle person she didn't exert her authority over the team like the others were expecting her to and so maybe some of them mistook her for not doing the job properly. Yes, she didn't prioritse the money aspect but I expect it was as much the lack of sales from her sub team on day 2 that helped not win the task a much as the price of her goods.

didn't get a lot from her really, only that she doesn't know how important sorting out your margins are!

She looks a lot like Michelle Rodriguez, that was my first thought.

No, the sub-team she was on made £400andsomething by selling everything (and, let's not forget, that includes bumping up the price for personalising items). If the team at the zoo had earned that much (which they couldn't have, as they didn't have the means to personalise anything), then the team as a whole would have made £800andsomething-£900andsomething in total, from which the £400andsomething costs would have been deducted.

The boy's team made £1,000andsomething, from which £300andsomething costs were deducted. Which means that, if the girls had sold everything for the maximum they could, then the boys would have beaten them by a margin of £100andsomething-£200andsomething. And bear in mind with that that the boys didn't sell out of their products, either.

The failure of the task was down to the pricing.

She looked like she was having a nervous breakdown in the boardroom. Has anyone ever gone that over the top before?

Sorry, that should be that the boys would have beaten them by a margin of £300andsomething-£400andsomething.

The failure of the task was down to the pricing.
Specifically, realising that it's easier to get money out of tourists than parents, and exploiting that.

I'm not sure who to blame in Gabrielle's team for picking the child theme. It does seem like they ought to have won, for having all the advantages going in. I can't say I see much potential in her currently. She gave a spirited defense in the boardroom, but it always annoys me when they say "Don't fire me - make me PM instead!", and saying it when you've just been PM is clutching at straws.

(PS, good post, Trollface. It's always nice to see arguments based on the numbers.)

True, it was the pricing and the targeting but how sad that the boys won with such a trite product completely lacking creativity. I thought the girls designs were really cute

Yes, and the lack of sales, which I said. I said "as much as", which isn't actually stating one more than the other or the specifics of the greater or lesser degrees. It's just GENERALLY saying it was both without the specifics which you seem to have added yourself. So YES it WAS the lack of sales as it WAS the pricing because it was the combination of BOTH. The degrees of what was MORE the fault is what you added yourself but not what I was stating myself otherwise I could have written out all the fancy figures like you did too. But I didn't, because I was't looking to get in to a mathematics lesson. So what I said was NOT entirely wrong because I wasn't being specific of saying it was sales that lost them the task as you mis-read as being expressed.

I thought she was smart to bring Katie back into the boardroom. She got the feeling that LS and Nick thought she was flying under the radar and used that to her advantage. I think if she brought another team member back in with her with Bilyana, then she'd have been in more danger of being fired.

She also put up a good defence in the boardroom.

She seems like a really nice and bubbly woman so far. I like her, but time will tell if she ultimately has what it takes.... I think it's too early to say.

Yes, but she kept on and on and on asserting herself long after it was necessary. Apart from anything else it was rude to carry on doing so once Sugar had started his summing up. He's shown in the past a capacity to put up with assertive contestants (Jedi-Jim notably), but Bilyana simply wasn't listening, as she admitted on Your Fired. It was obvious he was winding up to fire Katie, but even then Bilyana couldn't keep quiet.
