The Apprentice 2012: First Impressions.

Who stands out for you now? & Who doesn't? Remember neither Tom or Helen last year were the stand outs of episode one so first impressions are definitely not always correct. However I'd still like to know who people think are going to do well & not so well.

I think Jade seems she is going to do well. Maria not so much.

Duane - very strong, had some good opinions

Maria - Shouting!

Tom - Not so good at printing

Ricky - Speaks sense most of the time

Stephen - Troublemaker

Adam - boring

Azhar - a bit too sure of himself

Jane - Lorraine 2.0

Laura - Who???

Jenna - Should never do a sales pitch based on her voice

Gabrielle - One of the sweetest candidates ever (in more ways then one)

Michael - Sweaty

Katie - Probably the biggest difference between audition video and the show itself (still, I can see a Joanna kind of arc happpening for her, replacing loudmouth with silence)

Nick - Seems like a clever lad

Jade - Seems very focussed on the task in question and probably will be able to become gobby in the boardroom

Too early to speak about the final five, but based on first impressions I would say that Jade, Duane and Ricky will definitely be there and the rest of the places will be between Jane, Katie, Stephen and Nick.

I don't have a good impression of everyone yet, but the ones that stood out for me in the first episode are:

1. Stephen Brady
is my current favourite. He stood out for me because seems to act on good common sense and most of all because didn't fall for the trick the projectmanager played on him ( PM didn't want to make a decision based on Stephen's suggestion and told him to go ahead if he took the responsibility for it, Stephen handled that extremely well).

2. Duane Bryan plays a clever game by taking the lead in the first meeting so it looked like he's an initiative taker talked someone else into pm-ing the first task.

3. Gabrielle
I like Gabrielle, but she sure wasn't a strong PM.

4. Jane
I think Jane will go far. She's the one that kept her eye on the ball with the margins I think. Not sure she's likeable.

5. Katie, Jenna and Maria for all the wrong reasons.... not acting on their own strength but bitching when someone shows initiative.

6. Bilyana
Not in the least bit ikeable, but she shouldn't have been fired in the first episode.

Did NOT like that Irish woman at all, what with her constant scowling and her telling people off as if she was their boss.

She also seemed to really have it in for Biliyana- she didn't hide her jealousy for her well at all, cue more scowling. Seriously hope this miserable cow doesn't last very long.

Her manner certainly left a lot to be desired, but at least she knew that having a plan of what to buy and an idea of how much they were going to sell it for might have beena good idea !

The woman who had the dream has a voice like a cats fighting in a sack.

The rest of them are just a blur at the moment.

Duane (aka Tall Guy) - highly likeable, good manners, seems fair, strong but still has a lot to prove himself

Maria (aka Purple Maria) - purple eyeshadow, forceful personality, defensive, detail-oriented, loud voice, potentially a storm

Tom - no impression

Ricky (aka That Wrestler Guy) - A bit of a braggart, might be emotional and an annoyance under pressure.

Stephen (aka Backseat Driver) - boastful, smarmy, alpha wannabe, won't take lead but acted like a leader to upstage the PM, potential troublemaker

Adam - no impression

Azhar (aka Spiky Hair) - thinker, seems good at sales, potentially a disaster as PM

Jane (aka Irish Woman) - an irritation in motion

Laura - no impression

Jenna (aka The Psychic) - still can't get over her odd "I dreamt of 'Sterling' last night!" claim. It overshadowed everything she did and said since.

Gabrielle - likeable, please-like-me, hot-headed, emotional, single-track mind, can't seem to multi-task well.

Michael (aka Unibrow) - sweaty, potentially a liar ("I'm not nervous. *sweats* Not at all. *sweats*)

Katie - "Blonde assassin"? Give me a break. Potentially a tailcoat rider but I liked her honesty and fairness (she's acknowledged that Bilyana's unnecessarily desperate attempts to save herself had saved her from getting fired and she felt she owed her a drink for that.)

Nick (aka Shaggy) - likeable, friendly, easygoing but might get stomped on by bigger egos.

Jade (aka Perky Jade) - likeable, bubbly, potentially defensive and emotional under pressure

Didn't notice anyone. I think they need to change the format of the show in the early rounds, more than just two teams because all that happens is one ends up getting put forward and the rest just mill around hoping someone messes the figures up. If they had teams of 4, no chance of hiding, you get to see them under pressure from the first week, and it's easier anyway to communicate without everyone (who previously didn't want to be PM) shouting what needs to happen next

I have only just watched the first episode, as I forgot it was on.. Then realised there's a forum, so Hi everyone.
How do you all remember who's who? Maybe they should wear name tags for the first few episodes.

Anyway I thought Biliyana should have stayed, if only she knew when to keep her mouth shut, she just kept rabbiting on, talking over Lord Sugar, heaven forbid. Has she never watched the show before?

Katie was set to go, I thought, boring and to ask for another chance as your opening plea sounded a bit lack lustre. She'll be next.

Gabrielle is a bit stuttery and slow, and too naive, I predict she will be in tears before too long and unless her product (print shops) has taken Lord sugar's fancy, she won't last long IMO.

The Irish financial expert woman (red outfit) Jane I think, looks like good value and will say it like it is. Jenna (I have a dream) will be entertainingly quirly (I hope). Can't remember the rest of the women and I only just watched it, hehehe.

Team leader from the other side was very cute so I hope he stays, also the wine merchant guy stood out for me, so he's my favourite at the moment. Wine as a good business so I wonder what his product is? Maybe a vineyard, that could be up Alan's street.

The sales guy who wouldn't spend £15 on a teddy is annoyingly sensible so should go far, far away that is. He will irritate the hell out of everyone.

Pheonix realised margin's are everything when it comes to sales, that's the only reason they won as they lacked insight and imagination. Please don't let there be too many applicants who don't know the difference between gross and net profits or who are happy to admit they can't add up.

I will enjoy it even more now I've found the forum. Good luck to them all, bring it on.

Gosh I'm amazed at how many of you seem to know who they all are - I only just got to terms with the team leaders and who was taken into the boardroom!
I was not impressed by ANY of the men and 'Mr Car Salesman type' is going to drive me nuts.

As for the girls, hated the gobby Irish one and thought Biliyana was unlucky to go first but she sealed her own fate by not shutting up!
I tend to change my mind as the series progresses as they develop, so will wait and see who my favourites will turn out to be.

Four teams in week one is a very good idea. Someone should tweet that to Lord Sugar.
