I love all her albums and think she's incredibly versatile. But I think '4' is definitely her best work yet. It really is a body of work and i just think it's a beautiful album. I think it has some of her best songs ever.

Schoolin Life
Dance For You (My current favourite!!)
End Of Time
Countdown
I Was Here
Love On Top
Party
I Care
Best Thing I Never Had
1+1

Yeah i am with you
She's never done an Iconic album or a groundbreaking one but 4 is a lovely album about living life and being in love. Amazing piece of work.

Yes I do - but I do feel Beyonce is still yet to make that 'Oh ya f*cker what an album' album.

I think B'Day is her best album, but 4 comes a close second.

I agree. Critics lapped it up as well. I think this album was the next logical step in her career, doing a critically acclaimed album. Apparently she has two other albums in the works at the moment...I think one of them is the soundtrack for 'A Star Is Born', but I don't think the other one is her 5th album. Not sure what it could be, but she's always up to something. She's rumored to be touring with '4' at the end of the year too, which really excites me.

It made me appreciate her definitely. It really shows Beyonce OUT of that Safe Pop zone the majority know her for. It was important she did an album like that really.

I mean there are still moments where she could have done more....but damn compared to her last three albums, 4 really delivered and overall was one of the best albums of 2011 too. Was really surprised i would have said that, but the material on the album and Deluxe too really was and is something! i think as a mini-era it kinda worked so well too like her glasto and ITV slots allowed for people who wouldnt normally buy her music see what she can do.

I think it is her best album.

Dangerously in Love was great, and personally for me, it was better than B'Day, but her third album topped both of them. Some wonderful songs. And 4 is just incredible. I Was Here is so emotional, Countdown and Love On Top are fun, exciting songs, with the fierce hits like End of Time and Run the World.

I'd agree it is overall her best album it was just missing that one big strong single that really could have captured peoples attention.

If some tracks from 4 and B'Day was combined on one cd that would have probably made for a great album

I'd say it's a step up from her previous albums and it includes some of her best songs, but I think people do exaggerate how daring and uncommercial it is. Admittedly it's less mainstream-orientated than her other releases but it's still pretty accessible pop music at the end of the day and it's hardly a complete about-face. Also, the album for me is a bit ballad-heavy and there are some pretty poor tracks like 'Run the World' and the generic Diane Warren ballad 'I Was Here'. I love 'Countdown', 'End of Time', 'Love on Top' and 'Lay Up Under Me' though, and her vocals on '1+1' are stunning.

I would never say it's accessible pop as it isn't. Compare it to Gaga, Perry, Rihanna, Bieber, The Wanted....it's completely r&b with fusions of other genres. And it's by far her best album. I think people tend to label her pop as she's a very successful r&b star, but she's r&b through and through, with IASF being her most pop album.

I don't like it. I think it's pretty bland and dated. I was very disappointed when I first heard it. Love on Top and Schoolin' Life are the only tracks I'd choose to listen too, although Run the World has grown on me considerably.

B'Day remains my favourite, although I Am is pretty amazing too. I can't wait for her to tour again, I saw her a few years back and she was incredible.

Yup.

Its not full of hit singles but it is full of great songs. And this is coming from somebody who doesn't really have any time for Beyonce.

I wouldn't say I'm the biggest Beyonce fan in the world, the only thing I've ever bought that she's been on (except The Fame Monster) was Independent Woman the single way back when.

The album is great for just.. I dunno... it's a really good listen. Countdown is a great song to bop along to and try to sing (I emphasize TRY), Love on top doesn't need a mention because it's flawless, "Girls" was a grower... I hated it witha passion, but it's one of my favourites on there now. Best you never had is pretty decent and my all time favourite from Beyonce "I was here".

"I was here" is in a whole other league in comparison to her other songs that she's ever done. It's the kind of song you could sing at your own funeral it's so good.

I'd put B'Day first, as a whole piece and with stand out tracks I think it works best.
Closely followed by Sasha (on a different day I may have put Sasha first) it's only flaw is its a bit too long.
Then 4, decent album, a bit middle of the road and dated sounding, but Love on Top and I Was here drag it up.
Then Dangerously in Love, again hasn't stood the test of time too brilliantly, but love the singles (bar Baby Boi, I never liked that song)

dangerously in love was r&b
bday was a mix of both r&b and pop
i am sasha fierce was more pop
4 was r&b

so her most albums she's done r&b for is DIL and 4.

She made hits from r&b. And us fans LOVE 4. It's by far her best album...most like IASF but don't love it.
