Tabby is the clear favourite.

Odds Checker - Latest X Factor Betting

Rowetta is managing to stay firm in second place, despite Tabby and Cassie gaining popularity last week.

(I don't know what Tabby and Cassie did last week but it must have worked )

Someone posted on here that often, some early favourites struggle later on, and in the case with G4 it seems to be the case. From being very strong favourites in the placings earlier on, they are now slip sliding away.

If anyone put money on Tabby and Cassie earlier on, then there is possibly money to be made.
If you now "lay" them, I think it's possible to ensure a guaranteed profit if you know what you're doing.

You need to do the maths, but I think you can make a guaranteed profit on them now that their odds have shortened, and if you put money on them when they were at longer odds.

At this stage in the last Pop Idol, Andy was the favourite to win and we all know what happended to him soon after.
This will turn out as another popularity contest and I do not think that the voting public will choose Trevor. We will see, however

Oops, I only went and forgot to post the link didn't I?

I've updated the post with the link now.

I agree with you pistonbroke, it's only going to end up depending how personalities are presented to us. Ability will probably be a less important factor than maybe it should be.

I'm sure it is, particularly if you talk to Max Clifford about it later

I agree, I don't think he has enough general appeal to win, unless the Irish vote plays a huge part as the Scottish vote did with Michelle.

I'm not too keen on him anyway but the fact he's one of Sharon "Pot & Kettle" Osbourne makes me not want him to win which is a shame because I like Cassie.

.....it would only take l mediocre/poor performance this week by either of these 2 and the following week their odds would drift (as happened to G4) - likewise if G4 give a fantastic performance this week (fingers crossed) then their odds will probably shorten again. It`s very early days yet.

I am hating this that peeps are not liking the contestants cos of which judge they is wiv, thank the lords I aint like that at all. I like G4, I like Tabby and I like Steve then I dont mind 2 to Go, Cant stand VWS cant Stand Rowetta and think Cassie is sweet but maybe not yet old enough to take this on.

So I am pleased I aint voting for the judges I is voting for the acts and the ones that is the best get the vote on the night, not the one I thinks I like more. Me being totally honest yer sees. Shame more peeps aren't the same.

It doesn't matter if their odds drift.
If you strike when the iron's hot, you can make a profit whether they win the show or not.

It doesn't work the other way around, if you put money on G4 earlier, then you can't lay them and make a profit if their odds drift to longer odds.
The reason for this is that G4 started out as one of the hot favourites.

You have to back an outsider to win, and then place a bet on to lay them if their odds become shorter. That's how it works.

Of course it depends on how much money you bet to determine whether the profit is worthwhile or not. Bookies are often notoriously stingy with their odds if they can be.
