The build up to the argument is much more complicated than just crabeyes imo.
At the start of the day John was given a task to win a skype with his mum and friends back in oz.
He had to tell lies about himself to all the housemates .He spent a lot more time than usual with other housemates in order to complete the task.
He also kept going into the bathroom to talk to the tree ,disguising this fact by cleaning his teeth and doing his hair....something that had not gone un-noticed by Josie who thought he was just making more of an effort because of the new "sheilas".
In other words Josie had sensed he was acting differently that day but had come to a completely wrong conclusion as to the reason.

I haven't got the other clip to hand (I know I've got it somewhere) but all it is is the bit where Keeley is in the bedroom with John and Josie and Josie mimics John crying ,saying "Josie calls me crabeyes, josie calls me crabeyes"

That's how I remember it as well - Keeley asked Josie to mimic John and so she did. She never actually called him crabeyes.
