I have a Netflix & Youtube account & I can use that AirPlay thing for iplayer etc from my phone. I just think it looks so cool being able to mirror your phone & have all my music etc streamed through it. Might pick on up this afternoon

Well I picked the 3rd generation Apple TV this afternoon & I have to say, I'm very impressed! I'm typing this just now mirroring my iPhone on my livingroom TV & it's really clear although it doesn't show as full screen (black borders at top & bottom. It nothing major.)

Tried iplayer, 4od, 5 on demand & ITV player, they work no problem but Sky Go isn't compatible. Tune In Radio app works fine too & large screen Angry Birds through surround sound is awesome.

iTunes integration is fantastic & showing the cover art on screen is a nice touch.

Netflix & YouTube apps included are fine too.

Overall, a great piece of kit

I have an Ipad 1 and iphone 3gs and am considering Apple tv. As I understand it I'd be able to airplay iplayer through the ipad but I wouldn't be able to do the same with itv player or 4od. Is that right?

ITV & 4OD only transmit sound for me using AirPlay (iPhone 4S) but transmit video too with mirroring (think that's only avail le on iPad 2, 3 & iPhone 4S though?)

Saying that, ITV player wasn't working with mirroring either, I was getting errors trying to play a video.

Hopefully the app developers will release an update enabling AirPlay
