We all know that Simon knew how good this fellow was and the comments before he came onand sang was just for the 'subo moment'

I think its all scripted because dont people audition for the "nobodies" before they get to perform for the judges? Its hard to believe that someone so involved with the show wouldnt have somebody telling him in advance how good people are.

I think bgt is becoming a bit boring.maybe it was because the opening show was in quite a small arena so it didnt have a lot of the atmosphere the larger arenas get. Problem is we have seen in all before now. I may be in the minority but i found the german man who was terrible more entertaining than this subo moment and the other good acts.

There was, and will forever be, only ONE Subo moment. At the time, it was a total surprise, as previous form had been to have all these weird people up there singing badly so that we could laugh at them, and we were all ready to go for it. It was actually quite jaw-dropping when such a beautiful voice came from that odd, plain, dumpy little woman!

It will NEVER happen again that way, we're all wise to it now.

This was a definite set up. The ratings have been falling and they needed another Subo moment to get those ratings up, so they created one, but Subo was the real deal. Cowell lucked out and wants more of that.
Apparently people are falling for it though.”

So you're suggesting that the lad ALREADY has a career and a recording contract then ??

Well I was surprised how good he was , truth is some are ridiculously good and some predictably bad , you never know until they start singing , in my view.

I noticed that comment too, there was no need for that That was even put up in subtitles by the show!

So Simon "allowed" himself to be seen in a bad light on purpose ??

Doubt it tbh. I'm amazed he let the clip/slip be screened at all.

Yep

And well he's got to make it look real and genuine, i'm sure he can live with people thinking he's a tool for the comments he made before he sung

Absolutely. Anyone who steps on stage in a Cowell show has already passed through at least one audition and it's not a huge leap to assume he is then told which are the best acts and the ones that are going to make waves in the competition. He will have already known what was coming, which would suggest his throw away comment was dropped intentionally to make good TV.

Simon is so predictable. Time he retired.

Simon/Syco's aim is the make entertaining TV. It's more entertaining to have the guy coming out dressed like a 'normal' person with hair a bit of a mess, like he's just walked in off the street. It helps the audience 'relate' to the act and to push across the impression that he's a 'nobody' about to become a 'somebody'.

Personally I don't believe Simon himself knows how good each act is going to be before they perform. He lets the other producers deal with all that in the first round auditions, and he trusts that they will send through appropriate acts to him and the other judges, whether they're awful or fantastic. It would be an awfully boring day for him if he knew all the acts in advance.

of course he doesn't sit through all the auditions but I would put money on him being tipped off by the producers about which acts are going to be the one's the show will focus on ..... and that includes both the good anddome of the really whacky ones so that he can have the outline of his script prepared

He could easily have been more gentle with her, but chose to be malicious and harsh. Good on her for not giving him what he wanted.....an upset reaction.”

Agree

It was all done deliberately

Cowell is a control freak. He would know everything.
