I don't own either of those brands, but I do want a decent looking tv and one that gives good results for my own tastes and needs.
The Technika TVs are truly hideous in my opinion. Ugly design and very poor picture. However, I appreciate some people don't have the same requirements when buying a TV, they just want as big as they can get for the least amount of money. But just because it was cheap doesn't mean it's a good TV or a good deal.
I was happy to spend more than double to get what I would call a decent 3D TV. And when you put the two together you can clearly see the difference and tell what double the money gets you in picture results.
I personally could not sit watching a TV like that as I would just feel I had wasted £400/£500 as I know I would not be happy with it. Call me a snob for that if you like, but you have to be happy with soemthing you will be spending quite a bit of time watching.
I will also admit that own brands aren't always bad, and the cheap DVD players are perfectly good for a second TV.
But I'm glad the chap feels he got a bargain and is happy with his TV, that's what is most important as it is just personal preference (he might not like my TV!!).
