ipad 2 vs new ipad - advice please

I am looking to buy an ipad and looking for advice on which to get.

I will likely be getting a wifi only one and was wondering about the other differences between the two models given the price differential.

Also, in terms of size, seeing as I have my ipod for most of my music needs, would 16gb be big enough for me or should I really be going for 32gb?

In terms of resale, if I was to upgrade in 18 to 24 months, will there still be an ok value for an ipad2 if I opt for that?

If you want to sell it on and upgrade to the iPad 4 (or whatever) then go for the new one. It's the law of diminishing returns when it comes to selling on used tech.

However, in terms of value, hardware and what you can do with the iPad 2 v iPad 3 - stick to the iPad 2 if you want to save some cash. Go for as much storage as you can (32Gb is not bad) and visit the refurbished section of the on the Apple web store if you want to save some money.

Here's my online review of the new iPad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8FuoF-Oa5Y

So, parking the issue abouit selling on (good point tho), if I was looking to buy an iPad but wasnt into gaming (which seems to get the most boost from inproved graphics etc in reviews I've read) there isnt a whole world of difference between new and #2, so it comes down to the deal you get on #2 really ?

I'd say it's worth looking at them side by side in a store if you can. I reckon if you did, you'd think the new one was worth the extra. But ultimately depends on your budget.

With the music, don't forget you can use home sharing over hour network to stream your music from your main computer without needing it on the iPad.

If you only use it for music wouldnt it be better getting something else?

I was in the Apple Store Covent Garden today and apparently all the iPads on display were the new ones. But I honestly could not see the difference in screen quality between the new one and my iPad 2 (and yes, I was wearing my new glasses).

That said, the new iPad has a faster processor, better camera etc. so I suppose if I didn't have one at all and was buying one I'd probably get the new version simply because it has a higher spec. But it depends on the deal you get and what you plan to do with it.

In terms of resale, Apple stuff tends to hold value pretty well though with commodity items like iPad I don't imagine they have been out long enough to know.

I just can't see how you cannot tell the difference, even the home screen with the icons is noticeably sharper. Not that the iPad 2 screen is bad. Sure you have the correct prescription in your new glasses
