She can sing well and perform. Writing and playing instruments in my eyes is a bonus. Whitney never wrote, played an instrument or any of that. Yet she was immensely talented.

Her and John Paul when they sing together is incredible. Check out I've Got This Friend.

I'm sure you'll get far with such an attitude.

Okay then... Alexandra Burke is more talented than George Harrison.

What a ridiculous thing to say. At least some of the fans on here know of other artists and can therefore comment.

in my book, yes. I don't care for any of the Beatles. Never have, and never will.

And she didn't write Elephant she co wrote Elephant.
Along with 7 other folk according to its writing credits so don't get carried away with that one.

Attempting to Insult me doesn't make your arguments against Alex any stronger, just to let you know.

If you don't like her okay, that's fine...good for you but who are we to predict what will happen and won't?

From what I've seen success doesn't always equate talent, just look at the music scene today there aren't many great vocalists there, are there? Only a handful.”

Actually it was one of A Burke's fans that claimed she will easily surpass Britney and her achievements, something which many here deem an insane statement to make. There's nothing to suggest that Alexandra will ever achieve what the likes of Britney has, let alone do it "easily".

Tell me about it...it would seem a lot of them are holding on the idea that she will be as big as Beyoncé one day more than actually caring about the material etc. I wonder how many of them will be left if her next album fails to launch her to global superstardem, whilst trouncing Adele's efforts with 21

I'm not attempting to insult you.
I stating that your idea of irrelevance is ignorant and questioning where that attitude can take you.
If anything with that attitude you are insulting yourself.

It wasn't an argument about her, it was a comment on a deeper level. If you seriously conduct your life like that, whereby if something isn't seemingly relevant to your life then you dismiss it, it doesn't make you look good. At all. What about politics, current events, the world in general? Are you the same with those things?

She wasn't 'told' to sing them. They wrote them according to her diary and her personality. She sang them of her own accord. Yes, she co-wrote it, at a writing camp for her next album.

So someone who wrote songs for and played on several of the greatest albums of all time for one of the greatest bands of all time as well as having a successful solo career with at least one classic solo album is less talented than Alexandra Burke?
That is one of the most delusional things I've read on here.

I don't consider or recognise the Beatles. They existed and that's all. Delusional if you wish. But like I said. I have an opinion, and I'm using it. I don't care much for the Beatles and never will. End of. My opinion.

Yes because Cowell is renowned for letting people control their own career so she would have totally been incharge of Overcome.

Exactly why she left, at least give her credit where it's due she saw what was best for her and left that abysmal record label.

He selected the tracklisting, but overall, he probably didn't have any involvement at all. He was more hands on with Leona's album than Alexandra's. Just because he's controlled others doesn't mean he's controlled her. She's very strong willed, and often did things he didn't want her to.

You can't simply dismiss a whole chunk of musical heritage like that. You may not like the group, but you cannot deny what they achieved and the influence and effect they had.
to do so would make you as ignorant as the other poster above.

She left the label for this very reason so I don't think this point applies to Alexandra any more.

JustArun isn't ignorant. Call it whatever, but they don't and haven't influenced what I listened to. They had an impact and had massive achievements, yes. But they mean nothing to me, all the same.
