Not really, she just buzzed everyone. And laughed a bit.

I never really watched Strictly so I can't say if she was any better, but she worked well for me. She seemed to be the only judge not willing to put through any joke acts which I did appreciate.

I thought so; she seemed more at home on Britain's Got Talent and worked well with the panel from what we saw.

I have always been a big fan of Alesha, and I thought she did very well on her first show. She had some beautiful outfits and hairdos, and much as I like Amanda my eye was continually drawn to Alesha. Along with her glamour she has a down-to-earth sense of humour and a relaxed confidence to just be herself. Somehow she seemed to be the star of the judging panel - like the Prime Minister she was the "first among equals". I have always thought of Alesha as Britain's answer to Nicole Scherzinger, but in personality Alesha is way out in front.

I thought she was excellent. I have always liked her though on Strictly she was a bit superfluous to requirements. And her name is Alesha Dixon - it would be courteous to give her her full name - or at least a capital letter!

She was ok, I don't watch that SCD garbage though so I don't know what she's like usually.

She was alright, but I didn't feel we saw enough of her or the other judges. Her comeback to those dancers was good though.

Loved her. I think she puts Amanda in the shade. I loved the feisty moment she had with the freestyle dancers Her laugh is so awesome too

Here are a few brief shots to celebrate her maiden appearance, so to speak.

Hated her on Strictly as I think it needs professional technical knowledge. She's a great fit for BGT though as she is an all rounder herself with the singing and dancing. She seemed very at ease and looked absolutely gorgeous (the cow!). Put Amanda right in the shade. I like the new panel.

I imagine Alesha would be thrilled to be recognisable with just her first name. Who does one think of when saying Kylie or Britney without their surnames attached? Quite a high honour.

shes appalling.

simon only poached her to p*ss off the BBC and to forcibly change strictly come dancing.

now SCD has to have a new judges line up it may give the X factor an edge in the ratings.

it wasnt because alesha is a really good judge or really articulate or has really good credentials etc.

whats annoying is that because she was "poached" it gives her more credibility than she deserves.

Absolutely, and Alesha seems happier in BGT than in SCD even though she was a former winner. This is the best panel ever - and Simon and David are becoming the new Morecambe and Wise.

Well I thought she waas quite good, and much prefer her to Amanda - infact I cant really see the need to still have Amanda on the panel still after all these years. However I dont get why there was a need to poach her off the BBC - it wasnt as if people were tuning into Strictly to see her, and I cant see lots more people watching BGT just for her - im sure there are many other female celebrities who could have done the job. Just seems all a bit bizarre that Cowell went out of his way to get her. She did a decent job though.

She seems really well suited to the show and really brights up the panel. Vivacious, strong willed, fun, confident... yep, I love her already

i think she's excellent on this, she seems to be the one judge that will only put acts through that genuinely deserve to be (ie not the sympathy ones).
Her and David are both great additions, i dont think Amanda holden is really needed on the judging act to be honest.

The OP didn`t use `Alesha` in their thread title - instead `what was Dixon like` which does sound rather rude imo.

First time I had seen her as I cannot stand SCD. I was really impressed with her.

Mainly because she is common so BGT suits her.

SCD etc...requires knowledge which she obviously didnt have.

Commenting on dog acts/singers/dancers/fools etc... isnt exactly rocket science in all fairness.

Those dancers were crap and she took them down a peg or two when they gave her lip

Alesha was absolutely amazing - genuinely funny, lovely and not willing to accept 'rubbish' acts which is a bonus. Bring on more
