I do too but on relfection and repeated listens it doesn't quite stand up to either Fever or Light Years or X for that matter

I think when people say Fever is "Heavy", what they mean is that her other albums with the exception of Impossible Princess were all focused on pop music with dance elements, whereas Fever was dance music with pop elements, which to be honest I think is what Kylie does best although I prefer the more poppy sound of Light Years.

I get that point but then the same can be said Of X electro with pop and Aphrodite the sister album to Fever in many respects but Fever is balanced out by the more disco tilt at the end of the album which makes it far less heavy than say X which was continually loud and did at times clobber you round the head

Order of heaviness to lightness, for me:

X
Fever
Body Language
Aphrodite
Light Years

Well actually I think that could be why her last couple of albums have been less successful. Now everyone is doing dance-pop so Kylie isn't standing out from the crowd anymore, and frankly gays expect something a little different and avant garde, just as Fever was ten years ago.

Either she needs to move to an even more dance-orientated sound, back to camp pop, or to something completely different that will still satisfy her audience.

I agree Aphrodite was incredibly tame and played it totally safe i don't think the same can be said of X i think it was avant garde and adventurous i think its the opposite and more people wanted another fever which she didnt give them plus that and bungled singles.

And yes next time round like with her orchestral re-workings needs to do something a little different bring back creative Kylie of IP era

Personally, I prefer Pop / Dance Kylie. Not into Impossible Princess Kylie. Each to their own I guess.

Aphrodite is her most cohesive album since Fever and still brilliant to this very day. X just feels like Kylie was thrown a loads of songs from a rooftop - the ones she caught and didn't drop made the album....not to say it doesn't have standout songs - Like A Drug, Speakerphone, Stars, Nu-Di-Ty, Sensitized, All I See....though as usual there are better songs that didn't make the cut over ones that did - Rippin Up The Disco, White Diamond (the ballad version), Lose Control, I'm In The Mood For Love...if only she caught them!!!

I agree with what you say about Aphrodite. RIppin' Up The Disco is an awesome track to.

Fever, I like Light Years but most of it is far too cheesy for me to take seriously.

Impossible Princess & Body Language are my favourite Kylie albums.

I never got into Aphrodite, i've never been a fan of artists going back to square one. That's why I love Slow so much.

`slow` just remind me of `breathe` to be honest.

I love pop dance Kylie but when she is being creative with it like X rather than straight forward Kylie by numbers Aphrodite Fever had it right on the one hand dance Kylie with forward thinking and creativity.

And closer reminds me of Slow a bit in the chorus lol.

Its a tough one Slow is sexy and seductive whereas breathe is introverted and indie both have their good points but perhaps Breathe just pips it to the post
