Madonna Celebration (Single Disc Version)

I love Madonna's Celebration album but some disagree WHY?

Because it could have been a better career retrospective. She's had so many hits that even the two disc edition wasn't enough to fully cover them let alone the standard single disc. She should have released it as a three disc set with each disc covering the 80s, 90s and 00s in chronological order.

Causing a Commotion
Nothing Really Matters
Gambler
The Power of Good-Bye
Angel
Rain
Deeper and Deeper
Bedtime Story
Human Nature
You'll See
Drowned World/Subsitute for Love
Love Profusion
Nothing Fails
Get Together
True Blue
Jump
This Used to Be My Playground
What It Feels Like for a Girl

...all missing.

This. The random order really annoys me

I made my own playlist up with all the missing singles and some great album tracks.

The immaculate collection is a much better greatest hits package

The 1CD version was a complete waste of time. No way can 1 CD do her justice. There should have been a 2CD 'Standard Edition' and then a 3 or 4 CD 'Special Edition'. I remember reading on a forum somewhere that all of her singles would just about fill 4 CDs.

I remember when Celebration came out none of the supermarkets even sold the single disc edition. At least not around me anyway.

I also don't like the random edits they used throughout the album. It wasn't 'Immaculate Collection' territory, but they could have used some hard-to-find single versions instead.

The single disc did have better artwork though. The whole single cover montage was brill. Better still when it became apparent that half of the single covers used weren't even featured on the album!

Madonnas entire career of singles releases spans 4 CDs at the very least! that is where it slipped up really...they could have done something even bigger i reckon really!

Find some rare single mixes etc. and show it all off....plus just having Celebration and Revolver seemed a bit "cheap" when Broken (Im Sorry) and Its So Cool are just as fun and should have been on there too

The thing is that I don't think Madonna will ever go a greatest hits cd with all her singles included because I think she would rather people buy her albums.

I just find it odd that she has one of the biggest selling female solo albums with 'Immaculate Collection', but she hasn't ever tried to build on that success with future compilations.

Don't even get me started on the Celebration DVD!

To be fair it never bugged me. I own all her albums so i never felt like i was missing out on any of her Material. The dvd that went along with it was disappointing with some music videos left off.
