Collide had 2 weeks top10, but yeah, these latest releases seem to have done similar business... and suffered similar radio snubbings... hopefully they both get more radio support in the future... no reason these two shouldnt be doing well

WW, Alex has sold probably 900,000+ in albums.
WW, Leona has sold more than 7,000,000 in albums.(debut)

Leonas second album was much better and worked with amazing producers. Wrong decisions were made (not touring in the US) off the back of Spirit.
Wrong songs were chosen for the album and released.

However, the album sold over 2,000,000 copies and that is considered a flop?!

Now Alex may be working with good producers but until someone gives me definitive proof thatshe is working with Usher etc.
Elephant has BOMBED and her fans need to get a grip as she has so much more to prove with this new album.

Leonas comeback was IMO was good. She took a massive risk in the sense of goin into uptempo single. It was good enough to chart in the top 5 after a year and half away.
No radio support and the fact so many releases in the month of sept was the reason for it not going to number 1. If it was out in July, it wood have been.

Leona has worked on Glassheart for such a long time and the list of songwriters and producers she has worked with is endless. Obviously her label are willing to give her time to create a good album. so she beats the common criticism of rush releasing for the sake of it

Her new songs "lovebirds" and "glassheart" are really catchy.

Overall, both can reach the highs and I believe Leona deffo will.”

She sold 1.2m with her debut (Alex).

No she never. Her album has not crossed 1m.

Her winners single went over 1m.

And Collide spent two weeks in the top 10 and sold more than Alex in the first week.

it didn't even sell 1 MIllion hence why it doesn't have an IFPI platinum certification.

Echo sold 1.5 Million realistically. It's certified by IFPI for sales of at least 1 Million copies in Europe.

Collide spend two weeks in the Top 10 unlike Elephant which plummeted from #3 straight out of the top 10. Collide has also sold more.

Chart run for Collide:

4-10-18

Chart run for Elephant:

3-12-?

It sold 813k here, and 30k in Ireland. And just 1m overall (at the lowest). IFPI means throughout the WHOLE of Europe. It sold that but 900k was in the UK and Ireland. OH and you don't HAVE to get a certification. Alex's singles didn't all get certifications for sales over 200k (BH, ANL, SWY) but Swagger Jagger did. It costs to have certifications.

Record labels are known to massage sales figures. As you can see "Overcome" is nowhere to be found on this list:

http://www.ifpi.org/content/section_...all_years.html

As far as I'm aware, an IFPI Platinum certification doesn't cost anything unless you want a physical plaque.

Yes, but there was actual proof for that. I thought certifications cost regardless. The 4m sales checks out. Hallelujah - 1.2m, BB - 734k, BH - 280k, ANL - 250k, SWY - 260k, TS - 40k.= 2, 764, 000 + 1m for Overcome, and the international sales for BB, Overcome, ANL (Ireland + Europe), would get her to 4m. They said 4m on XF, and she got a plaque for 4m as did all her producers. You can't get a plaque if it's not true. But are certifications for sales or shipments? They're for the latter in the US, and I suspect the same for Europe and the UK.

Yeah. It's not getting airplay. It's been at #40 for 2 weeks now. And Radio 1 took it off their B List. Only a matter of time, they can't stand her. But her 2nd single has a video scheduled for early next week, and it should premiere at latest by Mid April, for a release in May or early June.

BUT....it's just like ANL. It was a good song, rose steadily, and peaked at #4 (by its rate of increase, it probably would have been her 3rd #1 if there were no releases the week after) and then after all the new releases bombarded the top 10, it fell to #11 (very similar to Elephant) and then fell again. And it got a lot of its sales in the top 30 (at the top half). Elephant may well do the same. RCA seem to have a plan, unlike Syco
